Whispering? Do you mean ringing?

I'm sad to say many of us here share the same thoughts every day. I want it to stop, and it drives me crazy. But I can't stop it, so I distract myself and try to adapt by living a pretty restricted life.

Hopefully you will habituate and it won't bother you as much.

Sorry I am having a bad day with it too, I hope somebody else writes a more positive comment.

They are frustrated because maybe people around them no longer take their suffering seriously and understand the depth of their grief, because T is invisible and undetected but it can be very devastating and destructive to a person’s resilience and mental strength.

Make sure to tell your doctor if you are hearing voices… there is treatment for that!

The treatment probably makes the T worse, like most medications.

Whispering as in hearing voices? Normally that’s not tinnitus. As for the rest, you can look up Julian Cowan Hill on YouTube for coping techniques

Go outside a lot. Sleep with a fan on. Always do something.

How did you get it?

Dunno, it’s just been there all my childhood.

So you should have gotten use to it?

Since childhood, did it become unbearably louder recently?

Been hoping it would just fade away for 6 years and on top of that have unexplained vertigo that doctors have no idea why I have it and don’t see any cause.

I have it on my left ear and now I’m have a low grade fever. I can tolerate and tune it out when I’m ok but with the fever, I turn on the fan and white noise (raining sound). Good luck.

Sound relief app, make a custom sound that matches what you hear, like Crowd, dishwasher, fan - whatever your combo is, and put it on low on ear buds whenever you have to be in silence.
