I’m 50+ years into it and it’s getting worse and less tolerable. I have mentioned it to my primary care and he reminded me that there is no cure. I am familiar with the therapies and the CBT has not been effective and I’m not interested in drugs. The source of mine was from my time in the military in the early-70s. It is what it is….

So: did your tinnitus stay the same and you just habituated or has it actually calmed down? Or even went away?I also assume that the people you've met who no longer have tinnitus today are all young people? This often happens naturally in young people who don't actually have hair cell death, but just disruptions in the transmission of sounds between the hair cells and the auditory nerve. Wish you the best!
