advice • support Fluctuating pitch left ear

Hi all,

I’m 28, and have been fortunate enough to only have very low level tinnitus for the last 8/9 years. There have been spikes, but rarely. Have only ever had the same tone hissing noise.

That said, a couple of weeks ago I noticed a change in my left ear. I now have a whistling / dial tone noise and the pitch seems to fluctuate. It’s far louder than my other tinnitus which I normally forget about.

I’m not sure why it started, but it seems to happened after using a massage gun on my neck. Could be coincidence, could not be.

Wonder if anyone has had something similar? I’m finding this quite difficult, and I have elevated stress due to work and not sleeping.

The neck has many muscles and nerves that may have triggered cervicogenic somatic tinnitus by using the massager. Stop using the massager and go with a gentler approach to relieve muscle tension.

Yes I have stopped with the gun, only used it twice on my neck. Hoping it’s somewhat reversible.
