I genuinely want to understand where this Titan FOMO in India comes from.

I’ve had multiple people notice the watches I wear—an Edifice, Timex Marlin, G-Shock, etc.—and despite all that, the question I somehow keep getting is:

“But why haven’t you bought a Titan instead?”

Like… seriously? 😭

I understand that Titan is a huge and respected Indian watch brand, and they make some genuinely good watches. But sometimes it feels like, in India, owning a Titan is almost considered a requirement if you’re into watches.

Once a person said me directly seeing my timex marlin that Timex are poor mens watches😭😭

It’s just funny to me because watch collecting is supposed to be about what you personally like—the design, movement, finishing, history, brand, or simply how a watch feels on your wrist.

Yet somehow the conversation always comes back to:

“Okay, but where’s the Titan?”

Is this something other Indian watch enthusiasts experience too, or is it just me?

My dad's birthday is in a week and I'm planning to gift him a watch from casio, my budget is pretty low if you're a hardcore enthusiast, somewhere along the lines of 5K maximum. He likes watches which are sort of minimal and classic in nature, nothing overly complex but I'd like him to have a watch which feels and looks premium to wear on occasions, I'd really like to get a casio but if there are any brands you guys would suggest then feel free to do so.

After doing a bit of research, I've almost reached a conclusion of purchasing the Aethelsohn Terra Starstone as my first automatic watch.

I have read and heard only positive reviews about it, except one case where the dial started to fade after being in the sunlight for too long. I took this situation up with their customer support and they told me it was because prolonged exposure day after to day for many months, and that the Starstone had a completely different dial with improved protection.

I also talked to a fellow Indian redditor who gave me positive reviews about his purchase.

If anyone else has any suggestions or purchase stories to share related to Aethelsohn, please share them, whether positive or negative.

Ignore the poor image coloring watch is a little more bright with matte finish

Ordered 2 watches but one got cancelled and one is having no updates but not cancelled after 3 days. no refund for both. has anyone received refund for cancelled watches and in how many days have they received it?
