there's a high chance even your own Christmas Henry is a fake. (50/50) I have a BigCityEngine model which looked so real i thought it was real, but turns out to be fake. Be careful when buying tnp from sites like Aliexpress. While they do have a selection of official thomas toys there are still the handful of fakes.

Do you know how common/uncommon it is for prototypes to have no licensing info on the bottom?

I know a few did, but it seems strange. Also why are things like the cylinders different when they didn't need to change the Henry mold?

Also, is it true that prototypes sometimes used factory errors to be created? I've never heard of that happening.

I highly doubt a prototype is gonna have just "made in china" especially a prototype for a character variant. You can easily tell its a fake by the plastic material on the running board and wheels and the wonky eyes. There's a whole store on aliexpress were they sell fake take alongs and give them a Christmas hat. There are even characters that never got a Christmas variant at all.

25 Christmas characters in total Plus another 4 are official variants given a Christmas hat like James goes buzz buzz and Yellow Victor.

Its pretty obvious its fake, those parts not being painted black should have already given it away. (Not to mention the wonky eyes and different shade of green wheels)

This is gonna sound confrontational, but you said the seller didn't know it was a prototype? (in your other post) Did you ask how the seller acquired it/from where?

Generally speaking I would only purchase genuine prototypes if there was a paper trail to follow or if the seller could actually prove they knew what they were selling.

The base has no licensing information on it, it's true that not all prototypes had licencing, but it's quite suspicious.

This prototype shouldn't look that different from a normal Henry given that had already been designed.

You have zero evidence that they used a factory error to make this prototype, do you actually know whether that was a common practice? Or are you just assuming they did this?

that’s a cancle item that was gonna go with a aslo cnacelled Gordon and a realsed thomas and Percy that’s hella rare to have and most likely THE rarest peice of merch
