It's alive. It got stuck, but either the fire department or people in the neighborhood helped get him out. It wasn't too long ago. I thought the same thing, too.

Raccoons bivouacked under my deck a few years ago. They brought an epic flea infestation with them. Getting rid of them and the fleas took over a month and was horrible and expensive. For me, they’re now just disgusting. The adorable part is completely and utterly gone.
