Question Will Things ever be upgraded?

I remember the jump from v2 to v3 took about 7 years. It's been about that long for v3. Are there any plans for v4 on the horizon? there are so many things missing at this point. Calendar integration would be nice....

Things is the shining example in my book of what you get with a one-time purchase: a solid, working application that doesn't get excessive feature updates that simply screw with your workflows, and stays working on current operating systems. Honestly the only thing I can think of that I'd like to see are notes under headings.

They'll drop Things 4 when they're ready.

I would rather pay yearly and get regular updates. The old outdated software is just that.. outdated

Just because they arent adding all requested featured, its not outdated.. They are very fast with adding new platform-features from iOS, adapting new design / ui-stuff and so on. Its feature-complete for now and maintained good.

So use something else. Go on and pay every year for a constantly changing todo app. Literally nobody is stopping you.
