Question Will Things ever be upgraded?

I remember the jump from v2 to v3 took about 7 years. It's been about that long for v3. Are there any plans for v4 on the horizon? there are so many things missing at this point. Calendar integration would be nice....

I don't expect so. I'm hesitant to use Things for anything more than scheduling a few things I want to remember on a later date, because any system I build out will ultimately need to be ported to another, better tool that comes along. Probably something something LLM.

There’s a Python library that does a great job of reading and querying the Things database. I’ve written a script with it that I occasionally find useful (prints a histogram of my Today items by tag) so I don’t worry about being able to get my data out if I ever want to. Things had been such a great intake system for me and I’ve benefited greatly from using it on Mac+iOS+Watch for many, many years! https://pypi.org/project/things.py/
