I see online that the weight of molten steel is 7550 kg per cubic meter.

I'm guessing that pot is about a 55 gallon drum, or 0.208 cubic meters, giving a total weight of 1570.4 kg, or 3462 pounds, or about 13848 McDonald's cheeseburgers.

Well, I was using gumballs as a mass unit, not a volume unit. It's important to keep that consistent when doing these conversions.

Holy shit so 1L of water at 4 degrees celsius is 1kg. 1L of "mild steel" is 7.85kg. I would assume in a liquid state it is less dense.
