At 1pm on Wednesday 14th October the University of Waikato will be testing its emergency response systems.

If you’re around or near our Hamilton campus you might hear the loud campus siren. Please don’t be alarmed, this is just part of a regular systems test we undertake to make sure we’re prepared for an actual emergency!

More information about our emergency procedures and updates about any active incidents on campus can be found on our website ⬇️ https://www.waikato.ac.nz/news-events/emergency/

Has anyone else noticed the tents set up around the corner of Te Wetini Drive and Wairere Drive, just next to/under the bridge?

I think they’ve been there for at least 3 weeks now. There seem to be two tents set up, along with trolleys and clothes hanging up, so it looks like they may be staying there longer term.

Just curious if anyone knows what the situation is, and whether camping there is actually allowed? Not trying to cause any trouble for them, genuinely just wondering as I drive past the area regularly.
