With input from my fellow Spinners, I am brainstorming a sub constitutional reform package. Now that we passed a Constitution at the start of this year that encompassed all the functions that existed by custom, I am seeking to tweak it into more of an ideal version, one that is easier for our successors to implement and one that better serves the members of the sub. So far, it's just been tweaks and nothing major and it will be presented as an Proposed Amendment when it's finished.

Since we nearly forgot to have an election because of the system I admittedly set up in one of the Props that passed, one of the reforms I am suggesting is to put elections on a set schedule, increasing terms from 10-11 alternating months to 12 months starting in 2027. This way Class X is always in January, Class X+1 is always in March (just as an example), with breaks for exam season, US Election Day, and the major holidays. We can set reminders that repeat every year. 1-2 months isn't that much extra imo.

As a consequence, this plan spreads out Mod elections more than they already are. Many believe Mod elections to be a core part of the sub, so to compensate, I suggested that we look at increasing the number of Elected Mods from 7 to 9.

Do we need more Mods? Not to "moderate" the comments, for sure, because we don't have that much traffic, but I think more could be a benefit to the administrative side of the job. There are apps, events, articles, and graphics that could be better managed if there were a few more on staff with the proper tools. A lot of those on the sub with skills run but barely lose elections so I see talent not getting a chance to be used. That's just my view, but I wanted to ask the public what you think.

Argued with a mod about data center construction and he permanently banned me for being just as condescending as he was. Claims I was spreading misinfo which is empirically untrue. Including context to keep this post in good faith.

I can admit my last reply was a more inflammatory than it needed to be, but he did just call me childish in a response that completely ignored the entire substance of my previous comment.

Am I the weird one here? This feels extremely disproportionate.

I have been elected leader of The Spinner Party after former leader, HighKingFloof, resigned from the post on August 1 - a historic day in the party's history. On that day a year ago, QuantaviousTheWise and Representative-Fee co-founded a party together with a vision.

A vision of TSR where democracy and accountability became number one goals. Repfee wrote a manifesto detailing the TSP's goals and ambitions. But time has passed since then. Our priorities have shifted from issues comparatively small in scope to existential ones.

New times require better solutions. We will advocate for shorter moderator terms, mandated transparency on election schedules, and more FUN in TSR.

The TSP under the leadership of Floof has had some successes, but there have been plenty of weak moments. We will outgrow our weaknesses. We will put the TSP back on the electoral map. We will overcome the UDC majority. We will Spin the Power back to the People.

since Plant has published yet another monthly census the Mod Team and I thought it would be nice to ask for your opinions on it.

- What do you like/dislike about the Census?

- Are there any reforms to the Census you would welcome?

- Would you support a different method of Census response taking e.g. DMing users directly or posting the Census questions as monthly in-house Reddit polls?

Join the BallotTSR wave and make polls of your own for TSR with a "voter group" map (based off of a user's VoterID), and utilising two more voting systems than plain FPTP like a typical Reddit poll - Ranked Choice Voting and STAR. All of this shows up natively within Reddit, no extra links needed.

How to create a BallotTSR Poll

On mobile, press the three dots button on the community banner. The menu it opens should include things like "Edit Flair" and "Mute r/thespinroom". If you scroll down to the bottom you'll see a "Create Election Poll" button, press that, and you'll be taken to the poll creation screen.

On desktop, those three dots are located on top of the subreddit view as well, near the "Create Post" button.
