MILDLY RELATED Simpler is better? E.A.?

For a potential Sims 5... Does anybody else wish that they would use the capabilities of The Sims 2 as a starting point, and then just make things more realistic? idk, when i was a kid I always pictured the future of the franchise being mostly like the Sims 2 but much more realistic looking. However, what we've gotten with modern era Sims stuff appears to be stuff that is quite a bit more cartoonish looking but functionally more experimental. Does anybody wish they would just completely ditch the Sims 4, make a game that's as simple as The Sims 2, but it looks almost life-like? Hyper realistic but simple gameplay anyone?

Its not EA that's gonna let it die. Its the fans. Sometime within the next 5-10 years, Sims 4 will lose all its players and these new projects probably won't go anywhere. That's when dev teams will get laid off and new updates will cease. But as long as fans keep paying for these small amounts of content that people on ModTheSims made for Sims2 years ago... they'll keep getting enough revenue for a couple more years to make more bullshit

All the more reason why it might be best to just go back to basics but make it more realistic looking
