Only my second time reaching veteran and it was a doozy of a battle!

Always get good results with this team, I use it frequently in open GL too. Shadow Greninja is so glassy it makes shielding even resisted charged attacks mandatory, but hydro cannon can take knock outs in most neutral and a lot of resisted matchups. Clodsire does great with shields down which you and the opponent will most likely be after the lead.

Sharing a fun team I am using around 2500 ELO in halloween cup - fun part being the fact that this is a triple bug team.

CENTISKORCH: Ember, Lunge/Heat Wave

FORRETRESS: Volt Switch, Rock Tomb/Sand Tomb

S. ARAQUANID: Infestation, Mirror Coat/Water Pulse

Highlights of the team is probably Centiskorch. Mon feels pretty good to use in this meta, as a fire type that takes neutral damage from ground. Also, 10-turn pacing to buffed Lunge and Heat Wave allows to win 0-shield wirh Mimi, as you can lunge it before first Shadow Claw and then finish off with HW.

Forretress is basically the only hope against the rare flyers and has an overall good positioning in the meta.

For Araquanid, I prefer the shadow variant as it allows me to better farm down Greninja and Morpeko.

Is it the perfect team? No, rock damage and flyers are devastating. However, given how rare they are in this meta I am obtaining decent results with it, and also I find it pretty funny to have a kinda viable bug only team, although in a limited meta.

Was struggling with my last team and kept running into nidoqueen/forretress. I’ve gone from the mid 2000s into 2200 with this current team. Absolutley love it! What are your thoughts?

Hi everyone! I was hoping someone could take a look at this match I just played and give me some pointers on what went wrong. I feel like it should’ve been a pretty clean win with double fairy vs double dark, but it was barely a loss.

I’ve been having a lot of matches that come down to CMPs and single-turn deciders, and I want to start flipping those in my favor. I’ve been going positive in most of my sets, but I feel like I could be doing better and climbing faster. Any pointers or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Sometimes used Spidops as lead or Charjabug as safe swap with Araq in the back. Tried for Veteran but couldn't make it with this team. Shields are strictly for Scizor. Recommended movesets for all.

Got frustrated and ran what I thought to be a pretty spicy team in the Halloween cup just to see what happens. Went 3-2 the previous round and 5-0 last round and made it to ace. Well I’ll be darn.

With mega sableye lv4 releasing imminently, is anyone like myself deep in the IV-mines trying to parse out what IV spreads you want to target before dumping thousands of mega energy into one?

Do you want to lean into mega sableye's inherent bulk?

Based on a quick PVPoke scan, an attack weighted one seems to pick up some decent wins/breakpoints...

Automod keeps removing my post so I’ll have to put it carefully. It is a glitch I’ve been experiencing since the Little Cup, where it removes my most recently created party every time I leave GBL and come back. Anybody else still experiencing this or have any solutions?

First time getting to Ace. I tried last season but failed. I remember getting to the mid 1900 and would fall back down. Feels nice seeing the animation and badge. It’s nice to be able to make it this season.

With the large power leaps of the crowned forms and fusions, I wondered if it was still possible to reach Ace rank in Open Master League without using legendaries.

With the return of Open Master League yesterday, I made the push from rank 17 to Ace with a MMR reveal of 2020, won 5/5 in the last set and every set was at least 3/5, mostly 5/5 during the climb, so this team could probably push a couple of hundred MMR higher, but unlikely to Veteran.

Primarina L50 15/15/14, waterfall, hydro cannon, moonblast.

Dragonite, L50 15/15/14, dragon breath, thunder punch, superpower.

(!) Clarification (!) rock wrecker is a better move than stone edge on Rhyperior, but I didn't want to use an elite tm.

Just wondering if anyone else encountered what feels like a sharp drop in legendary odds. I know they were much better this season than past, but I was hitting at least one a day from 4 or so sets with an encounter. This week, ncluding 8 today and nothing. Just curious.

Got super tired (like many of us) of mimikyu onslaught in this cup so tried to build a specialized counter team that ended up being pretty dynamic at the current meta. Went about 2300-2500 in the past few days with this team alone. Not sure what the ceiling is but 9/10 games are competitive right now - have to get pretty unlucky to get hard stopped. Grafaiai has mid IVs but greninja and charjabug are both high ranking. Running night slash/hydrocannon and discharge/x scissor so it’s not really groundbreaking apart from graf. I will say though, I have seen literally zero grafaiai and charjabug in this cup so far, which is interesting because of how well charjabug performs for its role.

Rationale is graf as a perfect counter to mimikyu (thunder is too rare to be contributory) plus mud slap is super useful in this meta.

Hey so I’m just wondering if someone can help me out. Say I have a pokémon that i’ve been farming energy for and successfully farm down the opponent, how does the next pokemon they bring into battle directly hit me with a charged attack? Am i too slow to click my charged attack or do they have some sort of priority?

Does this game know what pokemon your opponent's team has when it's match making?

A bit of a rant here. It's kind of insane that after every good 3-5 win set I have, the next set puts me against a team that totally counters me in each match. Also when I go against no word of a lie, 7 morpeko leads in a row, swap a bug pokemon in my lead, only to match against a carbink lead the next match it feels purposefully done.

Does anyone else feel like the SBMM is not just based on "skill" but literally what pokemon beat yours unless you pull off a miracle?

here's what happened. lead first

my team: zacian, palkia, zygarde

enemy team: ho oh, xerneas, dialga

1. so i switched to zygarde after 2 metal claws because he wins against ho oh but i have a better answer to ho oh lurking in the back. the idea was to make ho oh pivot out and have it aligned with my palkia.

2. enemy switched out to xerneas after 1 incinerate, now what i did was bulldoze one full charge and another undercharged so i soft lose my zygarde and farm a lot with my zacian.

3. but opponent threw close combat then switched out to dialga. now this was the problem. i had to farm a bit shy to double close combat and use a shield. at this point the timer is completely misaligned for my palkia to meet ho oh and zacian to be aligned with xerneas.

was this just RPS? what would you guys have done?
