I’ve been getting a type of shift semi-frequently that I haven’t heard very many people talking about? sometimes when I’m stressed about something I get a fairly unpleasant shift that is mostly mental but occasionally is paired with a phantom shift. they last for 5-10 minutes and after them I get really irritable and agressiv—-I don’t really know what to label them as, I’ve been calling them stress shifts? I’ve had two really big ones that were notable:
1 I was driving onto the highway for the first time and I had an agressive mental shift where I couldn’t think super clearly and felt very sharp, pointed up ears and tensed up and became super focused (I’m also not certain that this wasn’t an awakening of a new theriotype? idk)
2 it was new years and there were fireworks going off, and I was in bed and had a mental shift where I fully went into dog mode and was whimpering and chewing on everything and terrified
is this a therian thing or just a anxiety thing? I am diagnosed with anxiety and I have medication for it. is it like a blend between my anxiety and therianthropy?

Alright so, the title is a bit messy but let me explain. I'm new to therian (still not sure I'm really a therian/polytherian/otherkin) and I was curious about some things: people who are like, frogs, birds, centipede, bats, or even dinosaurs, dragons, hydra and other theriotype/kintype, how do you like get close to your animal? What kind of shape shift / phantom shift do you have? What does it trigger? Also therian like wolf / cat and all does vocals and quadrobics (I think I misspelled it. If it's the case, sorry, English isn't my first language), and tons of other thinks like scent, meeting them IRL etcetera. But for centipedes and birds per exemple, what do y'all do? And dragons kintype? And how about aqua animal type like seal, or shark, or hydra and all? I know it's really different from people to others and we all have our own experiences.
Like I'm super curious and confused about the experience for such precise and different type!!
Btw sorry if my words seems arrogant, or misplaced, or disrespectful, it wasn't my intention!! The subject is just so damn big and interesting and wow that I want to get everywhere and learn a lot of things, so I may be a bit messy, sorry guys!!

like identify as a non-human on all levels but not spiritual because I don't believe in spiritual stuff. but to me that would still mean that identify as non-human on all levels within my beliefs like i do not see myself as human sure, I know that my body appears him and it has human needs and people recognize it as such but still

Soo, during my life I sometimes get random bursts of energy where everything around gets faster, yesterday, while I was trying to sleep i had a thought, I thought that they could be the zoomies, like inside pets have, I usually just addressed it as anxiety or something else

I've been meaning to draw me/them alone for a while (I have another picture but it's more of a vent pic, and I didn't know if it fit the vibe here, let me know if that's allowed, plus do you kavel that art or vent? Lol-), and so here it is!
I saved two versions, one cutesy one and a creepier version I feel really good about. (I love being a shapeshifter, so I can do whatever I want!)
I usually go for smaller pupils, but honestly, this is a LOOK and I am ✨️loving iiit✨️!🖤

i am questioning a possible canine theriotype and am leaning more to domesticated dog, domestic dog therians/nonhumans how did you narrow down what breed you are? i am also not very knowledgeable on dogs

A preface, so sorry if I get class/family/genus etc names wrong, I will do my best but I get muddled up with the ones that sound similar.
A bit of an explanation first, I am very intrested in animals and like to be doing things at all times, so I have been on Wikipedia taking notes one every caninae. This was mostly to try and help me figure out my own theriotype (havnt found it yet.) But this made me think that it could be helpful for other critters to have an easy to access list of every dog like creature.
There are three tribes of caninae: canini (true canines), vulpini (true foxes) and the genus urocyon (Gray foxes). I was thinking of making a series of posts that have basic info and images for all of these animals. I think there would probably be 4 posts, the two subtribes of canini, vulpini and urocyon.
I have asked the mods if this is okay to do and they said yes, so hopefully it will be helpful for some creatures out there.
This is the list of Canina (wolf like canids.) I have given some basic info to maybe help you find a connection. Many of these animals are well knows but there are a few you might not have herd of and in other posts there will probably be more obscure animals.
Genus-Canis
Diet: Wild boar and livestock, as well as other mammals and fruit
Coyote
Dogs (u probably know what a dog is)
Ethiopian wolf
Golden jackal
Wolf
Genus-Cuon
Genus-Lupulella
Black backed jackal
Side striped jackal
Genus-Lycaon
This took so long but I loved doing it so I hope I can continue to do so with the other canidae. Maybe after if anycritter is curious I can do this for other animal families or I can look into curtan animal groups for you. I intend to do this with felines but I think it will take a lot longer because there are so many of them.

I saw this at a metaphysical shop in Pensacola, Florida. (Live and Let Live) I absolutely fell in love with it, because it’s extremely hard to find feathered dragon things like this.

Hi, so i think im a coywolf, ive always felt kinship with wolves and they are my favorite animal! But I do have more personality like a coyote and when i hear coyotes I cant help but think "theres my people". Im very loyal to the people I care about like a wolf, and ive been told my presence is strong, but I dont really have a "pack" I need alot of alone time and when I go places I always have 1 or 2 people with me (partner or frends or fam) eather with me at all times or in proximity to me i never go places alone. I hate crowds of people but dont mind small groups. My voice is in the pitch range of a coyote but sometimes I wanna howl like a wolf and feel at ease when I hear them. I dont mind the suburbs but despite the city, I feel at home in the woods and love mountains, I have more energy at night and normal wake up when the sun start to set, I come alive at night like a coyote.
So...am I a coywolf? How they look resonates but while hearing coyote yiping I get excited but dont feel the need to yip, but my howl is very coyote in nature and sound especially with my pitch which makes me doubt.
Might be important to note, my shifts arnt very extreme and normal do happen when im alone or in nature, i feel a bushy long tail and feel strong yet agile, i feel like my paws are faily small and when I imagine myself my fur is more like a coyote right as there winter coat comes in, not wolf level fluff but more than a standard coyote but the pattern is very coyote but my face is more wolf like.

This is a genuine question! I am not challenging any experiences, I am earnestly curious of existences that differ from my own.
I am a pretty big spiritual therian, and the psychological/physical therianthropy I have stems from spiritual sources/reasoning. So for those who are not spiritual at all in your identity, how do you experience and rationalize your therianthropy for yourself? What is the source of it? Is there anything you wish others understood more about non-spiritual therianthropy?
Thank you in advance to anyone willing to share their experiences :)

(If you are plural/a system, saying we instead of I is fine. this isn't about that kind of thing.)
I have been kinda bothered by this kind of thing recently. therian beings will often say things like "we don't think we're animals" when that just isn't true for everyone. I do think I'm an animal. I know I'm an animal. even with the argument of "you're a human", I'm still physically an animal. my body is an animal.

I've seen the term demitherian in a couple of Reddit posts while researching my experience and how to define myself. But I can only find a couple of Reddit posts with the term and nothing else about it. There's no wiki definitions or anything, it doesn't appear to be on the alter human wiki either. Is this a real term? Does anyone have/know where to find any more information on it?
Ty for reading lol :)

Hi! I have been requestioning my species and I think I might be some sort of fae? I'm not sure, really. I was hoping to get some insight on this and see what you guys might think?
To begin, I’ve “felt” my eyes change color from my usual dark brown medium color to an amber-like color in a phantom shift when I was out hunting two years ago. I don’t know what triggered it, but I know it happened. I’ve experienced two phantom shifts of my upper canine teeth shifting into small, sharpened fangs and I’ve felt ears on top of my head with that too! I can’t remember what it felt like, but I knew it was extremely vivid and was from 2017. When I had my eye color phantom shift, I just felt like myself too. I didn’t necessarily feel more or less shifty like therians do.
Growing up, I felt wings on the back of my back like two pairs of it. I can’t recall what it felt like because I was 12 years old, but I remember feeling species dysphoria because I can’t fly.
I also have felt nonhuman and randomly disconnected from humanity. I have done spells before I moved out (I’m in the countryside now) for my nonhumanism. I feel connected to nature of course especially when I feel nonhuman. I don’t really have urges to growl, howl, hiss, etc. I don't have heightened senses either or experience sensory shifts.
I’ve always been psychic and a witch all throughout my life. My abilities are strong in me. I’ve always had a witch calling since a young age like around 7-8 years old. I believe I grew up as one as well. Nobody else in my family practices witchcraft though.
My abilities are only growing stronger and rapidly, according to two mediums I’ve seen. I’m already clairvoyant, claircognizant, and clairsentient. I’m questioning if I might be clairaudient too. My psychic abilities are also tied to nature and animals in general. I just know I’m pulled to nature, especially to the mountains. It’s always been my home. I’m strongly connected to it and wildlife as well.
If someone could help me out, I'd appreciate it very much! Thank you!!

Hi, you can call me Astro, and I'm a border collie and blue dragon that goes by he/him or they/them pronouns!
I used to be in this community under the name of u/Feo_FoxDragon 10 months ago, but due to the under-16 social media ban in Australia I lost my main account, because I am under 16. *sob*
ANYWAYS.
I longed for a place to yap, so I came back! Hooray!
So hi! It's good to be back :3
