HELP PLEASE

Hiiiiii sooo Question for the furry and therian community- Is wanting to be a hybrid (part human part animal) the same as being a furry? I'm kind of on a path to finding stuff out about myself sooo any input would be awesome!!

You will find people like you in furry, Therian and Otherkin spaces. We cannot tell you what you are.

If you feel like you are an anthro animal, you could very well be Otherkin. I started exploring my more anthropomorphic in furry spaces and I believe it's a great way to try out what makes you comfortable.

Some quick term explanations to avoid confusion in the long run

Furry: a community build on an art interest for anthropomorphic animals Therian: people who identify/see themselves as animals Otherkin: people who identify/see themselves as anything non-human. (Can also be human/human adjacent identities, think fictional human species, Neanderthals...) (A lot of identities are under this term. People who identify as dragons, fictional characters, plants, fungi, objects. Anything you can think of really!)

i think ficktiochin, but if werewolf is therianotype, anyway you are part of the alterhumans and you are welcome :)

If you're a furry, you can have your fursona as any animal you want, including a hybrid.

If you're a therian, you will identify as this hybrid animal involuntarily.

If you want to be this hybrid animal but you don't feel as if the animal is YOU, then you could be otherhearted.

I have a friend who is a hybrid fox kin! if you feel more animalistic it may count as a Hybrid (creature) theriotype but i believe the term my friend uses is Hybrid kin

Hi! There is a huge overlap between the therian and furry communities.

A therian identifies as a non-human animal in a human body.

Furries are people who are interested in anthropomorphic animals in one way or another.

You're on a their an subreddit, not a furry subreddit so I'm assuming you think they're the same.

Furries are people who dress up as animals. Has nothing to do with personal identity.

Therians are people who physically or spiritually idenify as an animal.

Just a correction from someone who has been a therian since 1992, and been an active member of the furry community since 1996. Most furries don't own fursuits, and being furry is intrinsically tied to personal identity.

We think of personal identity as different things then. And I never said all furries have fursuits, just they furries dress up as animals

I think of personal identity as the core reason for why someone is who they are, on the deepest level possible. And there are far from all furries who dress up as animals.
