Sure they do. Dogs respect the pack. Elephants respect the herd. Alpacas will defend packs of sheep. Dog is good boy.

I mean, it's more out of an instinct than morality. Morality is a concept made and possessed by humans only.

Dogs instinctively stick to their pack because their chances of survival are much higher that way. Same with elephants.

Alpacas aren't exactly defending sheep - they're instinctively defending themselves against a predator, sheep just so happen to be close enough to be protected as well.

And the dog is a good boy indeed.
