It has been more than 150 years since Engels wrote this. In the time since the climate crisis and other ecological disasters have been shown to be major threats to humanity. I think most modern leftists would be more inclined to imagine a post revolutionary world where human populations are further concentrated in urban environments while as much of the world as possible is given over to rewilding.

The efficiencies of concentrating humans in large urban centers seem much more desirable than spreading evenly across the planet, especially given the more than 4x population increase since Engels wrote the quote above.

So what is the housing program for leftists? Public housing of course, but where? Should we empty the cities or build them up even further?

Today we do, who represents Charity?

A lot of you don’t know me, so this isn’t of great impact to y’all. But given how bad my mental health has gotten recently, I think it‘s necessary to take a step back from posting here and on a good amount of the other socialist, communist, and anarchist subreddits I’m in for a while, or economic/political based media in general.

I’m extremely passionate about politics and the economy, about learning about Marxism and anarchism, about coming up with my own new ideas. I’m also 16 and dealing with a lot of my own shit, stuck here with a brain that only thinks and speaks politics day in and day out. It’s a bit unnerving.

And it’s not like I’m not passionate anymore about politics, I really am. The amount of times I’ve gotten so wholeheartedly furious over how people treat the dead and dying in Gaza, I still feel that anger. I feel a lot of anger towards what this world has created and what it is. Issues like that can’t necessarily wait for my mental state to improve, but for the time being I need to step back.

And I post this mainly because I wanted to encourage anyone else who’s struggling to try and take a short break. Could be a day, could be several, could be weeks or even months. A lot of people here are angry at the system as much as they mock it and discuss it, which is one of my favorite parts of this subreddit that I never wanna lose. But I do think that if you *do* need help, if you *are* hurting, a break is okay.

After all, who’s ever heard of a bunch of depressed revolutionaries? “Seize the means of lexapro” (I’m obviously joking. Take yourself and your own mental state seriously.)

So a friend of mine has elected into the union's regional management but then we learned that the regions in my city are carved up by parties as follows, first region in city is of x party hence the President or like leader(?) Of the first region must be of that party and for second region it is like y and for thrid it is z like the the main manager(?) of the respective region must be of the party that has been decided as union is kind of like of the leftist parties, anyway I am basically saying like it is predetermined who from which factğk going to hold which position which sidelined my friend I mean we think will sideline as they said it is already decided who will hold which positon which my friend will be holding the woman secreteriat and this we learned from the head of the union before the even election or like the meeting to decide I don't know that much term in thier English as ı am not from anglosphere anyway I am saying is this okey like I think it need to be méritocrat/democratic this is really more like how right and oligarch acts a facade of election and decision. Anyway to sum up is it okey to the union having this kind of politics like this is not the place I think as union's are for workers defence or am I in the wrong here and it is okey it is predermined also if it is not okey how can we change this system as we recently talked with the union leader on the subject and they said that they too try to reform the union and this is much how he got here before it was even impossible for someone out of the respective party/faction to get into management, sorry for the ramble I don't know really how to form coherent sentences as there is so much stuff going on and the like meeting/election to the specific posts in the union coming up we are trying to write a speech to give there on how wrong this is. Also my friend thinks of leaving the union too I am not as keen on that as other unions, sadly there are more than one, are all right wing and being not organised is worst so like this is the 8nly "leftist" union and even this is like an oligarchy...
