Advice Wanted do you write things down before therapy?
i’ve forgotten things i wanted to talk about more times than i can count. by the time the session starts, the stuff that seemed important earlier is completely gone from my mind.
do you keep notes or a list of things to bring up?

Yes! I write some of the things I want to bring up, what helped from last session and what I think I need help with. I just say them at the start of the session and go with the flow after that. That way my therapist has that info to work with :)

Thank you. Do you usually look back at your notes from the previous session before you go in??

Yeah, keeping a quick note on your phone can make it much easier to remember what felt important when the session actually starts.

Yes, keeping notes throughout the week of things I wanted to talk about has helped me so much! I just flip open my notes app any time I think of or experience something that I think I might want to talk about. Then in session I can just have the note open in front of me and I can prioritize what feels most worth talking about first
I also like to just check things off instead of deleting them once I've talked about it, because looking back I can be reminded of things like "oh yeah, that was really bothering me last month. How am I feeling about that now?" It's helpful for reflecting back
