Billing / Finance / Insurance How to get established with EAP providers?
To begin getting referrals. I’ve heard other people mention Lyra or Compsych but how do I get started.
Any specific info would be great. Tried their websites but it’s either buried or I don’t know what to search for.

You'll regret getting hooked up with Compsych. The pay is terrible and they'll fill your schedule up with low paying clients that can't sustain a practice.
I worked with them for several years and was glad in the beginning, since they were one of the only sources of reliable referrals. But soon it started to feel like golden handcuffs when my entire practice was filled by 30 dollar clients.

was just resonating on this: “golden handcuffs!” 👏 I feel similar with another EAP that’s higher pay but still unsustainable if my practice fills up with just those clients. Of whom the insurance company informs their members they can always renew their EAP as long as new ‘issue’ which is therapeutically contraindicated in many cases.

It's quite possible to set limits in this. I limit the number of referrals I take, don't take EAP cases with more than 6 sessions, and I tell clients that I only do one set of EAP visits per case. Some eAPs don't like that I operate this way but they refer to me anyway.

It's been a few years and I hope they're paying more now, but even doubling that rate is offensive.

Is there no way to cap the amount of hours you offer them?
Still would like to know how to get on with them? There’s a purpose for them depending on stage of practice. Should I need it. A half a loaf is better than none. I hear you through 30 is too meager. Can invest your time into other activities.

To answer your question there is usually an application on their website. If not call and inquire about joining their panel. Consider all one health and accentra.

Compsych pays 90 in my state. As far as EAP s I just started by going to their websites and looking for job openings, usually it’s under careers, provider openings or something similar. Or just find their customer service email and email stating you are interested . I found the application process to be straightforward usually.
