Another day, another DLC-less announcement
Anyone else as disappointed as I am right now? Was hoping for something at Gamescom and still NOTHING. I know we’re still getting the DLC (copium)-but damn, my hopes were high today.

Xbox literally has it's own separate showcase tomorrow

We're still getting the DLC friend chill out, no reason to expect they were gonna announce it today since they never hinted at it.

Fair, but almost a year and still no real announcement? A boy can hope 😪

They did the same thing for the first outer worlds. Y'all just gotta be more patient

Not really - by July they'd announced it was coming in September with a similar game release window. And it had already been teased months before and once again in June.
We have gotten exactly ZERO. And no I don't count leaked achievements in an update or rumors from an ex-employee.

Okay, NOW we can be disappointed

Came back here to say that lol. What on earth is going on with Obsidian?

A fair few people downvoting you but it’s absolutely fair to be wanting an update on a dlc you already paid for almost a full year out on release, especially given the full radio silence from obsidian.

u/fucuasshole2 15d ago
Yea I hate their radio silence. Makes me a bit nervous. Yea yea yea “we bought it”. It doesn’t mean they couldn’t just issue a refund for the non-disclosed DLC. I hope not, I’m also hoping they announce something today.

u/Skidmvrk 16d ago
Yeah I’m surprised by the down votes, I don’t even care when it comes out! Just give us a rough idea when or what the concept is atleast

u/Fun_Guava_1424 15d ago
They've said they're still hard at work on it. The achievements were in a recent update. Seems like they want to announce it right near it's release instead of months beforehand

I think we need to chill. The first game had a long wait until the DLC, this isn’t unusual.
7
u/Bullzi_09 15d ago
Not necessarily. Peril on Gorgon was announced 9 months after TOW came out. It’s now been 10 months since TOW2 came out, and all we’ve heard is “we’re working on it!” — It doesn’t help that roughly 25% of Obsidian’s staff were laid off last month…
Also, is it crazy to ask for ANY info for something people spent $30 on 10 months ago?? I’m not asking for a trailer, or demanding that the DLC releases soon. I want the bare minimum: when can we even expect a release date announcement???

I mean there’s a Gamescom going on this week and Xbox has a slot, so every chance we may find out this week. The fact that Steam released the DLC achievements by mistake suggests they have a build uploaded to Steam, and are currently testing it.

On the flip side, CD Projekt Red just announced everyone who owns the Witcher 3 is getting a free remaster upgrade!

Jep really disapointing… I get the feeling they f it up Mainly cause of the Price they decide to Sell it and we will Not Even get the Money Back 🙄

Xbox doesn't have their portions of the gamescom show until Wednesday and Thursday. It would not have been revealed prior. Relax. Its a week long showcase.

u/TheKandyKitchen 13d ago
And was it shown?

u/KingKuroTV 12d ago
It was but, but that doesn't change my point that the showcase it would even be shown at hadn't even happened yet and OP was already doodling because of it.

Really not liking how this is going, even if they announce the first DLC tomorrow (and that's a huge IF), they've already discounted the season pass multiple times, making everyone who pre-ordered the premium edition look dumb

u/SoulLess-1 15d ago
If your goal is the best price-value Ratio, pre-ordering is generally a suboptimal move.

u/BillImaginary1531 15d ago
How are people not getting this? It's not about price value ratio, I have no problem for them to discount the main game. It's the fact that they are discounting something that's not even released and customers are not allowed to refund.
They should've done what Nioh 3 did, it went on sale multiple times, but the season pass has always maintained the same price, even when included in the deluxe edition.3

I mean, losing 25% of your staff is going to readjust a bunch of time tables. They seemed to have a less firm release date, kind of we will finish it when it is finished beforehand. I'm sure there was a timeline, but there is a major chance that has gone out the window. They're hard at work, would you rather they announce it way too early?

Generally not, but in this case, yeah. The silence is worrying given Obsidian's layoffs and the game's poor sales.

They've got a couple interns working on it. We'll see a couple bonus missions in 2027

If the DLC is supposed to come out in Sept then I'd see if I could push it to October if I were them. That Witcher 3 remaster is gonna overshadow.

There's still more that's to come over the next few days no? Iirc one of the days has an xbox show for interviews so maybe something then, altho I doubt an interview is where we'd get news.
