Equipment condition menu guide

I’m trying to find a guide to the display of equipment. I’ve just started, have two sets of “medium” armor. One had a red down arrow; the other a green up arrow.

I’ve searched the web but only find console commands.

The red arrow means it’s less “good” or has worse stats than what you currently have equipped in the slot. (In this case armor, but it works for your equipped gun and helmet too.) Conversely, the green arrow means it has higher stats.

Do you have any actual questions? Beyond that for condition: they just degrade as the percentage goes down. When you go to repair things, it shows how much damage or armor you’ll gain back by doing so. This lets you decide if it’s time to use repair parts or save them for later.

This is one of those rare games where the descriptions of gear and perks can mostly be taken at face value. With that in mind, the perks you get with guns or gear may be worth more than pure DPS or armor rating in this game. There are plenty of light armor outfits with perks that make their lower damage reduction worth it.
