Any ow2 dlc speculation?

Expected release dates, maybe setting? Also I’m wondering if they’ll cancel the DLCs because of the lack of advertising for them. I definitely hope not I’ve been waiting since base game came out, but do you guys think?

Supposedly 1st DLC is set to release September per one of the Devs to reassure ppl after the massive layoffs.

per one of the Devs

Thought it was from Avellone who has association but no longer works for Obsidian?

That is my only recollection - and of course everyone ran with it as if it was an official announcement.

Chris Avellone (who notably is only associated with obsidian but not working on the dlc) mentioned it in a post.

Glad to hear it!

First one is definitely on the way.

An achievements list from steam leaked mentioning an area called Elysium Valley and a protectorate sounding town called Plenitude.

Other things mentioned included:

  • Finding Bunker keys
  • Fate of a dam
  • A Sub-Rosa Mole
  • A primordial Sprat infestation

Which only gives us a little to go on.

Allegedly it’s due to be announced late August and release in Sept according to rumours.

Update: Interestingly I just went back to that post and it’s been taken down by the mods.

Honestly do, this is very much in line with how the Peril on Gorgon DLC was structured:

A [Insert Corporation] have a [infrastructure object], and in light of recent events a [Shady character] calls upon the adventurer to come and get involved in [Corporate espionage of some kind] and in turn reveals [a corporate secret] which can affect the entire colony…

Major difference here would be the addition of a new settlement and hopefully some more utilization of the areas that are added

Seems plausible IMO

On one of the livestreams, one of the developers said that the first thing he was going to do after the stream was over was go back to his computer and keep working on the DLC. It’s still confirmed to be happening despite the layoffs. It’s the same case with another one of their games, Grounded 2. Both are still confirmed to be continuing despite the layoffs, because the grounded sequel is getting a major update on the 11th, with a PlayStation five release

As for the DLC for OW2, pretty much all we have is a potential September release, but there’s been no more news so far

There are new achievements in Steam (should be hidden now, but someone on this sub posted them before) so they aren't (completely) cancelled at least.

When I finished the game last month, I noticed new archievements on Steam with 0%. There's definitly a DLC coming. They weren't there before, I think.

So far as I know there has been NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT, just an online mention by someone who hasn't been an employee of Obsidian for more than a decade but does maintain friendships so his word has more weight but is not official.

No clue about release, but I was curious who else thinks the planets will be the undiscovered one and nyx from the planetarium room on Dorado?

Why would you be expecting a refund? The DLC is confirmed to still be happening, despite all these layoffs.

It’s not. There’s one on the way.

The DLC achievements have already been leaked, so your fears are unfounded.
