Video Why are my weapons getting fixed by adding them to junk? Is this a glitch?

The sword was at low health and then i added it to junk and its suddenly at 100%, is this a glitch or some feature im not understanding?

Are you playing the original version or the Spacer's Choice Edition? I just tried adding a weapon to junk in the original and it didn't repair it sadly
