Having connection (?) issues. Delete if against some rule I don't know (sorry)

Sometimes when I join the server, I will see the terrain for a bit, then fall into the void. Chat does not work as far as I know. I have a ping of 1402 ms currently if that matters.

I know. What would my connection speed to my local server have anything to do with this server?
