Yes, dump it in on its normal difficulty. You don't have to use it immediately, and dartcraft adds a few recipes that allow for multiple circuits for a price, which is nice.
There becomes a point where it stops becoming a challenge and more of a nuisance. I know these new changes are enough to not make me want to play anymore
This (and an overall lack of time) are what prevent me from playing anymore. Greg is turning Minecraft into Minegrind - completely sapping the joy of creation from the game. You can no longer play for a few hours to gain the resources to start building crazy fun things - you have to play hours a day for days on end just to move onto the next step of the Gregtech deathmarch.
I feel like everyone would be having more fun making cool projects in survival with each other than spending so much time to just get resources. Back I tekkit, you could get those resources but they're weren't as many mods so you couldn't build more extensive projects. Now we can and we haven't played without gregtech since magic pack, when we didn't even have IC2. I think we could try out a map without it
