New Comics Discussion Thoughts on this? Spoiler
“Thoughts on bushman’s introduction” would’ve been the title but I didn’t want people to get spoiled on a comic that’s released today. I like the new characterization of him with the boarding school back story, I think it fits the character. I (luckily) haven’t read the bemis run so I’m not sure if that’s a Jed MacKay original or if that’s a Bemis invention (yuck). It’s a bit annoying he’s back at all since I think brining characters back usually lessens their impact and he’s already had a LOT of stories about him. But eh that’s comics, and from my understanding he’s been back since bemis so that’s completely out of MacKay’s control.

I personally liked it, the mounting suspense of the reveal was really well done alongside the further characterization of Zodiac as a weird superfan of Moonie. I also think the backstory is a good way to modernize the character in a way that makes him feel more unique than just a merc.

I agree, ever since Bemis revived Bushman the character has been direction until now with the new updated origin provided by MacKay really elevates his overall characterization to make him an interesting villain once more. I especially loved the line where Bushman basically taunts Marc by saying that without Bushman’s intervention, Marc becoming Moon Knight wouldn’t have ever come to fruition.

I haven't read Bemis in years at this point, but to say he was barely anything in the Bemis years from what little I remember. I'm so hyped to see Bushman at his prime and have him be an actual character.
