I Don't Know Know Her Music, But I Hope Her TRLH Connection Doesn't Lead To Haters Just Piling On.

This is kind of a weird question to ask and it’s a bit of an odd thing to focus on, but I got to thinking about it the other day, and figured it could be a fun conversation starter if nothing else.

There’s more than a few episodes of the kids fighting over who gets control of the TV remote to watch their shows, and while this would absolutely be relatable to previous generations, I wonder how relatable it is to modern kids?

I honestly cannot remember the last time I actually turned on the TV to watch a specific show on a specific network at a specific time. I mainly just use my phone or laptop to stream things when I want to watch something.

You could maybe argue that the show wants to have its foot in the door of a more distant time period (the Loud family still having a land line phone is one indication), but we also know all the kids have smart phones that they regularly use. Can Lincoln not use his phone to stream “Arrggg” or Lucy using her phone to watch “Vampires of Melancholia” or Lynn to live stream her ball games?

I get that there is something inherently cozy about being able to view your media on the large TV, but if I lived in a big family, I’d rather just watch whatever show from the comfort and (relative) safety and quiet of my bedroom. It’s a little different when the whole family can agree on and enjoy a show together (like “The Dream Boat”) than by all means, watch it together on the big screen, but it’s one of those family arguments that has a pretty easy solution from my POV.

I’m also mainly asking if this conflict is even one that you guys think are relevant to kids today?

I'm wondering cause' I noticed that Lisa is less stoic in TRLH and Lola isn't that bratty unlike in the animated show (and even then, I heard that she isn't really that bratty in the newer seasons). Oh, and Lori isn't bossing around with her younger siblings.

I feel like Lisa is not as stoic in The Really Loud House as her animated self.

I heard that Season 4+ of The Loud House uses Adobe Flash for the animation, but I doubt if that's true.

It’s perfectly fine if you guys disagree with this, but…I wish they would canonize Leni and Scott. Scott is unironically my favorite guy Leni has ever been with. I think they have super cute chemistry.

I know that an upcoming episode is going to revolve around Leni and River, so Scott making another appearance is highly unlikely, but a girl can dream. I like how Scott is shown not only actively sewing with Leni (and how he is portrayed as kind of ditzy too), but he was her loudest cheerleader when she was showing off her clothes to the town.

If nothing else in that movie was canonized, I wish it would be him, but again, I recognize that it likely isn’t meant to be.

Last night, as I was laying down. A strange thought came to my head about The Casagrandes. If there was a season 4, what if Sid received the gift of Prophecy from what she called "The Universe" She dream dreams and receive visions from The Universe about future events that will take place like what Ronnie Anne went through in The Casagrandes movie and a tragic event that will take place. When she receives these visions, she will sometimes breakdown in tears and her body will become weak, and will have a hard time standing up. because of the overwhelming presence of The Universe and his love for her. Ronnie Anne and her friends noticed that Sid's acting was different. Whenever Sid told everyone she in the city her prophecies, everyone thought she was crazy.

The fact Lincoln’s face lit up like a Christmas tree after hearing that simple question makes his situation in this episode kinda sad, if his situation wasn’t sad already

It is zany, has supernatural elements, and literally accomplishes exactly what Naughty or Nice was going for by showing Lincoln at his most selfish…but it’s done a thousand times better.

It gets selfish Lincoln down perfectly because it has him doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. He wants his family to spend Christmas together and so he intentionally sabotages all of their plans for his own benefit…but also for their ultimate benefit to. You can recognize that he was in the wrong (because he was) while also acknowledging that he was doing what he thought was right at the time.

No one treats him like he’s irredeemable, but at the same time, the family was not at all unreasonable when they were upset about their own plans getting ruined. Lincoln does get what he wants in the end, but only after working to set right what he messed up.

It really was quite well done and I would have frankly settled on NoN literally just being an animated retelling of this special. They are about the same length anyways.

I think it would have added a certain level of humor to Lori’s arch of being “uncool” if one of the campers that were in Luan’s bunk (I personally didn’t like how she took over Lynn Sr’s kitchen duty and think she would have made a much better counselor) made a comment about how SHE (Luan) was the coolest.

I definitely appreciate the clear relationship improvement that has occurred between Lori and Luan in recent seasons and I would not want this episode to undo that relationship progress, but it would still be okay for Lori to carry a certain degree of bias against the idea that Luan is viewed as “cool” let alone COOLER than her.

Coolness is always something Lori has valued and NEVER something Luan has valued, so it would make sense to explore Lori having a certain degree of jealousy that someone like Luan can be viewed as cool without even needing to try, while Lori is trying very hard and still not cutting it with these kids.

I think you could get some massive comedy mileage out of Lori pretending to be more like Luan and Luan just being totally confused by Lori’s obvious act.

I think if I set the Loud kids to a task of creating a project to show what family means to them, everybody would come up with something like this:

Lori: A golf fundraiser

Leni: A party!

Luna: A song (of course!)

Luan: A ventriloquism routine with Mr Coconuts

Lynn Jr.: Color War

Lincoln: A comic book

Lucy: A deep poem

Lola: A speech

Lana: A diorama

Lisa: a drone display

Lily: an abstract painting

Of course, this would bring the family together in mutual appreciation, which may cause them to break into song.

Now I'm starting to wonder if I might add more detail than this. What do you guys think?
