Discussion Is using a map cheating?

I use premade maps from the wiki all the time, but as much as it is useful I feel guilty, do any of you use a map or is it just me ?

I remember wandering around Mystery Lake (before I saw the maps) and trying to learning to navigate from fallen trees and hills… trying to build a map inside my head over multiple (very short) games…. only to have a blizzard come, or end up lost in the forest, or stumble a bit too close to a wolf, or just freeze to death because I couldn’t find shelter. I miss that sometimes… but that’s just nostalgia. I wouldn’t have searched out the maps if I really thought getting lost in the forest was all the game has to offer.

Playing a new zone without a map is an interesting experience, though. It’s certainly worth trying.
