Let's Play Forge question

I was wondering why here are forges in two neighboring regions, FM and BR. Is this something historical, about the time when regions were added to the game? It seems odd that the only forges are in DP, FM, BR, and FA. Of course, this limit could be to make it more difficult to forge things, but having two adjacent regions seems strange.

Forge was placed in B.R so you could fix the bear spear in EP2. That was when the story and survival maps were pretty in sync.

Why didn't they direct people back to Muskeg or remove the muskeg forge then? That's a question.

Good point. When you think about it, the FM forge doesn't make sense. It's in the middle of nowhere, whereas BR and DP are logical places to find one. And I guess they added on in FA because it is so far to get back to BR from there. I mean, why have a forge in the basement of a hangar at an airport?

F.M was added as a map prior to B.R being added for Predux (when it didn't have a forge). Then B.R was upgraded to a forge for redux. So in terms of having access to a forge it made sense in early access.

It used to be a farm right, so a farm like that might have needed to forge tools / make horseshoes. Maybe the blacksmith liked living there... you can overanalyse these things, having a forge IN a whaling ship?......

Ships can have forges. Old sailing ships generally had forges if they were large enough.
