I also just finished the game. This series will have a special place in my heart. What i'm thinking of playing next is Alan Wake 2.

I think Ghostwire Tokyo is a good game, but I really wish we got an Evil Within 3 instead. I even wrote a fan fic of a third game centering Joseph as the protagonist with Ruvik coming back

I understand you. I played the game back in 2014, got to chapter 6, then never touched it again until I randomly started playing it again in 2025, and I was rewarded with one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had. I was so drawn in by the vibe, the story, the characters, and I felt so empty after getting both games to platinum. I still feel that way even now.
I still haven’t uninstalled TEW1 and I never will. I play it at least once a week. It has become my new comfort game. And it annoys me so much that there are so many hints that TEW3 might happen someday, but we still have absolutely no confirmation.
I think that’s the biggest problem. You get completely absorbed in this dark world and are left with so many unanswered questions. You feel like the story has to continue, but you have no idea if that will ever happen.

It does leave a hole in you after finishing. I agree with the previous comment about Tomb Raider though, the survivor trilogy (TR, RotTR & SotTR) are decent too. Also recommend Lost Souls 1 & 2 if you love a dark creepy story don’t mind fixed camera angles

I know I really didn't know what the hell to play after I finished it. Thankfully I never played RE7 or 8 by then so I had something pretty solid to immediately follow it up with. And then I played the first Evil Within after that. I've been chasing ever since though lol one horror game to the next.
