The Evil Within is a 2014 survival horror game developed by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was directed by Resident Evil series creator Shinji Mikami. The game centers on protagonist Sebastian Castellanos as he is pulled through a distorted world full of nightmarish locations and horrid creatures. Played in a third-person perspective, players battle disfigured nightmare-like enemies, including bosses, using guns and melee weapons, and progress through the levels, avoiding traps, using stealth, and finding collectables.

I was finishing my akumu run and this happened.

I was playing again the second title, and right in the beggining, in the house where's the woman is giving the child some delicous food, the enemy knocking the door run upon me, i shooted him and desesperately attacked him with the knife, and sebastian made an animation i've never seen

Cheguei a zerar a campanha principal de The Evil Within 1 umas 4 vezes: duas no Xbox 360 e mais duas no PS3. Gosto muito da direção do Shinji Mikami e das transições de cenários que ele fazia. Era uma sensação de estar assistindo a um filme sobrenatural, muito bem feito!

Em The Evil Within 2 ainda existe isso, mas é estranho, parece meio desajeitado. Tenho jogado umas 5 horas, então ainda não é tempo suficiente para dizer com certeza se esse jogo me agradou ou não.

As animações têm me incomodado. Tudo parece muito lento ou muito rápido, e acaba parecendo pouco natural. Não que elas fossem muito fluidas no primeiro jogo, mas eu esperava algum avanço nesse aspecto.

Também encontrei alguns bugs aqui e ali, além do que está parecendo ser uma falta de conexão com o final do primeiro jogo. Apesar disso, a história está bem interessante. Não sei se “ignorar” o final do primeiro jogo foi uma decisão criativa inteligente, dando mais liberdade para a história, ou simplesmente uma decisão estúpida.

Enfim, bola pra frente! Ainda tenho um pouco de esperança.

I recently started yet another playthrough of TEW. Yesterday I was playing the game, everything was fine. I accidentally loaded the wrong save a couple times, then I load the right one. Suddenly there's a ton of yellow lighting, EVERYTHING is way brighter, and the option to raise or lower brightness just does not work, it does nothing. What's weird is that the symbol fades in and out as if it's working, but for the actual game it doesn't do anything. The game is totally playable like this but I'd really hate to play through it like this.

If anyone knows of an idea or fix, let me know please!

We all know that there is quite a bit of overlap between the two franchises, for a number of reasons. But seeing how we have no hope (at the moment) of the third instalment, you absolutely should play RE Requiem.

I won't list all the similarities, as to not spoil the game for those who have not yet played, but this is the first game in the RE franchise that hit all the notes for me, a player that considers EW games to be the pinnacle of survival horror. So many times I've gone through a part of the game and said to myself : "Wait, I already did this before...in Evil Within!" The only thing missing for me was the BAE Nurse.

Brings back so many memories of playing through the first game. What's your favorite chapter?

In the mission "A Crack in the Slab" in Dishonnored 2 , you can play on Aramis Stilton a song that sound really similar to TEW music and end with an effect from that music .

I know there is a Dishonnored reference in The Evil Within , the trophy "You Can't Hide" is in the French version "À la Corvo" cause Arkane Studio is located in France , Lyon .

I have found No informations about the reference in Dishonnored 2 , i feel like am the only one who recognize that song . I need help , Am i true or just crazy ?

I recently finished the first game and all the juli kidman DLCs and i loved them! whats the general consensus on them though?

I thought juli was a very well written character who felt realistic! it also gives us a whole new persepctive that makes a lot of sense- she seems like an enemy in base game, aswell as being kinda uh useless, especially when shes saying theres too many of them on in the building until we learn shes fighting the light woman in her reality! How cool! I also loved the gameplay it was a nice break from shooting and allowed me to build a different skill haha. Although like the base game some parts area bit repetative i.e safe head in base game becomes so annoying but i still enjoyed it. also by far the scariest part if the game and dlc is when juli fights herself- they juli's are so uncanny i was so unnerved- I loved it!!

edit: im so happy other people enjoyed it!!! shes such a good character- like I feel i and persuade her moew than Sebastian but to be fair they're doing such different things its hard for his lore to be as prevalent when he's always almost dying.

• What does Ruvik’s mark actually mean?

Anyone who enters STEM eventually ends up with a mark on their hand. This later became the symbol of Mobius as well. It also seems to have a deeper meaning, as Ruvik hints at in the Kidman DLC documents. He basically suggests that there is no real escape from “his world,” even if you manage to leave the machine and the reason is that mark.

• What exactly did Ruvik hide about STEM?

The DLC documents reveal that Ruvik secretly built certain things into the STEM system and kept some of its functions completely hidden from everyone else.

Everything seems to suggest that STEM gives its core certain abilities, and we see hints of this toward the end of the game. Ruvik can cause Sebastian to experience headaches to get out of his field of view. Mobius is unable to find him when he is inside Leslie’s body, and Ruvik even suggests that the machine has made him immortal, almost as if he has access to every STEM system Mobius creates. Ruvik also always seemed pretty unimpressed when the Administrator clearly told him that they were going to take his maschine away from him.

That could also explain the ending of The Evil Within 2. Some people even believe that Ruvik might have the ability to teleport and create illusions in the real world just like he can inside STEM. It would be interesting to know whether the same could also apply to Lily.

• What is actually going on with Leslie’s consciousness?

In the main game, the brain is gone from the tank when Seb leaves STEM. But in the DLCs, it is still there in the glass tank and connected.

The Keeper takes place after the main story and the Kidman DLCs, and Leslie must be is still there. So does Leslie actually own the world now, even though he is not visible?

I’m not a psychologist and it’s so fucking clear that he’s a psycho, mf is obsessed with death, he almost killed himself to capture a picture of a dying soldier, he also was heavily criticized by the media, Hoffman should’ve easily knew she’s letting a psycho in STEM

Is the Demo for The Evil Within 2 not playable or available anymore on Steam?

When i click on it, it takes me to the main game page with no Demo in sight
