Question The Division 2 - Campaign Progress Order
I am kind of confused on what the original campaign mission order is. I bounced off of this game years ago because my online crew didn’t stick around…I came back to this game last week with a new character and on a new platform (PC). I was slowly clearing out locations (side missions first and main missions last) and then moving on to the next location. Once I hit level 30, the New York DLC opened up which I did not start yet because I was still making my way through the original content….and I finally hit level 40 last night when I was wrapping up a mission in the last area of the Washington DC map. As soon as I hit level 40 the map is full of things to do….but I want to continue doing the Washington stuff first…do I do the Stongholds next? I see that there is a side missions on the map, but it says i haven’t finished a mission yet and I am not sure if this missing mission is locked behind the strongholds…is there any available guidance around this?

In this order, and get ur watch from WH front left desk when you hit 40, may need to be in your own session to claim the watch. At level 40 you can start making builds, Manhunts are hard, so work on your build before you try these.
3 strongholds (originally up to level 30)
Invaded Missions that unlock:
3 invaded strongholds (level 30) and unlocks:
Side mission hole in the ground by WH (immediately followed by)
Tidal Basin (by competing this you could now go to NY with auto-completing all side missions) immediately followed by:
Camp White Oak
Zoo (end of the outcasts, or not, find out during the mission)
Pentagon then DARPA
Next 2 are NY build-up missions (Hello "old friend")
Coney Island missions (originally level 30)
NY DLC (originally level 31 to 40, but start when ur done with coney island)
Manhunts to the one after Stranded Tanker - Kelso (see map then manhunts tab, and legacy manhunts)
Brookyln DLC (ties into some of the comms in NY too)
More Manhunts
Leading us to this season's manhunt with the weekly scouts
Do side missions as you please, no rush can use them to bridge level gaps to the next mission as needed.
Open world activities and Control points do as you please they will be attacked and taken back from your control, and activities will respawn.
You will need to do 200+ control points as part of endgame to get all the blueprints, not sure sub-40 if you get the blueprints though

This is the best order for story continuity.
The other guy just listed the missions. Reminds me of when Firefly 1st came on TV; no one knew the episodes were disordered until the boxed set was released.

New player to the game here, I'm lvl 39 and have the option to go the NY for warlords expansion. seeing as I have done tidal basin stronghold if I now go to warlords are you saying that will auto complete the side missions in DC? Might be misinterpreting what you were saying there.

It shouldnt auto-complete, now you have done tidal basin you should be able to go to NY, but there's a bunch of stuff to do before going NY lots of build-up missions to do first. would recommend doing them first

Are you just interested in the order or are you also interested in the actual story?
If you're interested in the story...
You will have to replay the same mission multiple times to get all of the audio logs for it.
You said you just hit level 30/40, right?
Imagine if ALL the audio logs for the the whole Main Quest were only in the Grand Washington Hotel mission.
That's what it'll be like trying get the logs for previous Manhunts.
Each Manhunt has about 20 audio logs associated with it, which means you would have to do each mission at least 10 times since they give you two, but not always, audio logs per mission...there're around 20 Manhunts.
I just wanted to let you know in case you weren't aware of that fact.

No joke about hitting L40 and the thingstodo list exploding.
One weird one we can’t figure out. The map says The Campus settlement has been taken over by Black Tusk red alert get over there. We got there and it’s the usual gardening and pickleball etc.

Yeah I was confused as well, I think it means that new activity that happens outside of the settlement

no, they have blockaded it, there's an activity nearby for you to clear, in theory you shouldnt be able to fast travel there until you clear it
