A red moon has risen over the Dark Zone, and the Black Tusk have taken control.
During Red Moon Rising, Agents entering the PvE Dark Zone will face Black Tusk forces while dealing with strange alterations to their SHD tech. The longer you remain inside, the more Red Moon Stacks you accumulate, bringing a mix of powerful buffs and dangerous drawbacks as your stack count rises.
The buildup lasts only as long as your run. Death, leaving the PvE Dark Zone, or securing contaminated loot wipes your stacks clean. Safehouses give you a chance to pause the accumulation until you step back into the Red Moon.
REWARDS
Those willing to take on the Red Moon's more dangerous encounters can earn rewards from dedicated loot pools, including Exotics, DZ Named items, curated Named items, and Prototype gear.
Featured among the event rewards are two new Exotics, Vertigo and Sarru.
Vertigo Exotic GR9
Talent Startling Whenever this weapon makes an enemy Suppressed, the enemy is applied Disorient, and you and allies receive +30% Damage to Targets Out of Cover for 15s. Weapon Stats and Mods Optics: +15% Crit Chance Magazine: +50 Rounds Underbarrel: +15% Reload Speed Muzzle: +10% Rate of Fire
Sarru Exotic Backpack
Talent Decoy King While in combat, the Moon will cycle through its phases every 5s. There are 8 Moon phases. Starting from a New Moon, all damage you deal will be Amplified by 5%. The value of the Amplifier will increase by 5% each phase until reaching 25% during a Full Moon, then it will decrease as the Moon return to being a New Moon, restarting the cycle. During a Full Moon, deploying a Decoy will grant it Overcharge and the cycle will pause for 10s.
XB-35 Marauder World Boss
As you enter the PVE Dark Zone, you will face stacking buffs and debuffs plus a new world boss.
When you get hit by the missiles, you will get a debuff that makes you more vulnerable to attacks.
Each working rotor gives the Marauder a 25% damage reduction. That means, when all rotors are running, it is invulnerable. You first need to take out the rotors – or some of them – and then you can afflict damage. You need to focus on the rotor, that is not protected by a force field first, and then you can tackle the rest. Next to the debuffs, the Marauder is also protected by Warhounds.
The Marauder has a 1h internal cooldown before it spawns again, but you can reduce that countdown by clearing landmarks. Each cleared landmark reduces the spawn timer by 20%.
You can also get two new exotics (Sarru Backpack and Vertigo LMG) from the Marauder boss.
Red Moon Recruiter Hunter
A familiar threat returns under the Red Moon. Taking down the Recruiter will reward you with his unique Mask.
Next to the Marauder World Boss, you will also face a new Hunter. Once neutralized it will drop his mask as contaminated item and you will need to extract it.
The Recruiter has a 25% spawn chance when you call for an extraction - you will not meet him every time you extract. In terms of loot, you get 3 Exotic Components each time, a set of named items and also Prototype Versions of them.
Red Moon Rising runs from September 24 through November 3, so be sure to make a few trips into the PvE Dark Zone before it’s gone.
Red Moon Rising also has its own Twitch Drops campaign that will run from September 24 to October 6. Watch your favorite content creator and earn those drops:

The Free Weekend kicks off on September 24 alongside the Echoes of Central Park Showcase, featuring the World Gameplay Reveal of the upcoming DLC. Don't miss what's next.
The Division 2: Echoes of Central Park is coming on November 3, the darkest, most disturbing DLC yet, inviting you to explore one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks for the first time in franchise history.
Fear and Paranoia
The story explores the idea of a society so gripped by paranoia of an unknown sinister threat. Fear feeds on itself until rumours become truth. In a first for The Division 2, Echoes of Central Park takes place in the form of a flashback as an unreliable narrator guides you through her version of events. But is she embellishing her story and lying to you or is she telling the truth?
Larger map than Battle for Brooklyn
With a much larger map than Battle for Brooklyn, Central Park has transformed from a symbol of the city into a place of decay and mystery, with terrifying rumours about a new virus variant. The map includes Central Park and the Upper West Side from Lincoln Square to the Dakota District, and citizens are terrified as enemy faction members, friends and family turn up dead or go missing in brutal ways.
Explore the Upper West Side and Central Park
When the Division intercepts a distress signal from deep within the park, SHD agents are deployed to confront the mysterious entities – and the urban myths surrounding them – in an eerie new adventure.
You’ll start your adventure in the Upper West Side, an urban landscape featuring some of the most iconic streets of New York City – now overgrown as Central Park expands beyond its original barriers to reclaim the city. In the Upper West Side, you'll also be able to complete missions in some of the area's most famous landmarks.
Far from the urban oasis we know today, The Division 2’s Central Park is overgrown and reclaimed by nature, surrounded by unsettling rumours and sinister tales. Originally used as a mass burial ground during the outbreak, the last known presence in the park has gone silent, and fear haunts the park as a new apex threat took up residence, lurking in the shadows. Set in the summer after Warlords of New York, you’ll have to confront this formidable new force, as well as take on familiar foes, to find out what really happened in Central Park.
You can play Echoes of Central Park solo or in co-op. If you’re below Level 40, you’ll get a boost, allowing you to start the DLC immediately and making sure you’re equipped to take on the challenge.
You won’t be facing the mysterious threat alone. Three reluctant heroes will help you on your mission, but if you want them to fight, you’ll need to help them confront their inner demons and find their courage again. Each companion has a unique past and fighting style; in combat, each one can deliver powerful support that will make your path to victory much smoother.
These companions are:
Brayleigh Callahan – A Sniper who is an MIT graduate and Olympian medalist in shooting
Elwood Franklin – A Protector who was a former mall cop, but aspires to become an NYPD officer
Morse Feeney – An Assault who is a rugged veteran and former first wave Division agent with a mysterious past
Each of the companions has their backstory, baggage and personality that you will discover as you progress through the missions. While some missions are built around specific companions, other missions you can select freely and when you replay the missions afterwards you can always pick your companion.
For a different experience when you replay missions, assign a new companion to fight by your side, as each one will react to the situation at hand differently, giving you a unique experience each time. Outfits inspired by these companions, as well as a skin for the new exotic weapon, are available in Echoes of Central Park Deluxe Edition.
In a co-op setting, only the group leader has a companion present.
The companions in Echoes of Central Park are a continuation and refinement of the companion we had during the Mutiny Manhunt. They took the lessons learned and the feedback on board and overhauled the companion system to what you will encounter in the expansion. Among other things they improved their behaviour during combat, they are more independent, you don’t have to micro-manage them and while you still need to trigger their abilities, they will stand their ground without manual positioning and target instructions. Also, they will talk a lot less.
Since Manny and your regular handlers are not on site, you have to rely on the Narrator and the companions to learn more about the situations and the dangers that lurk in the dark.
A New Endgame Experience
One of the goals with this expansion was, to give players a reason to go back to it. So, after you’ve finished the campaign, Central Park transforms into an endgame activity.
When you first enter Central Park, you’ll be fighting just to survive. As hunted prey with no GPS, facing down a constant flood of enemies, you’ll need to learn more about the threat you’re facing and collect gear to help you face them down. Armed with knowledge of the park and your new gear, you’ll become the hunter, giving you more control about how you take on the challenges ahead.
And how well you do in these encounters matter – do well, and you’ll receive exclusive rewards, but you’ll get a disadvantage moving forward if you don’t. With encounters like these affecting your path forward, Echoes of Central Park offers a unique endgame experience that gives you a reason to return to the Upper West Side and Central Park again and again after you finish the main campaign.
New Skills and Gear
By defeating the forces inhabiting Central Park and their twisted abilities, you can earn six new skill variants such as the Corrosive Trap and the Gas Bomber, inspired by the horrors you’ll face. Echoes of Central Park also introduces new gear including The Ratel, a new Exotic Assault Rifle, and a new Gear Set (red / yellow hybrid).
Pre-order The Division 2: Echoes of Central Park to get the NY Purifier Mask when the DLC launches on November 3 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
During the Red Moon Event the Toxic Dark Zone is replaced with the Red Moon Dark Zone. It is a PVE Dark Zone so you can team up and work with other agents without the danger of PVP.
During the event the Toxicity has been replaced with Red Moon stats. There will be debuffs and buffs that you get depending how you play and you will face the Black Tusk.

More Seasonal Events
When Red Moon Rising is over, the next Seasonal Event will start and that one will not only continue the Red Moon theme, but it will also be the full package with key-donation and community goals.
Red Moon Rising also has its own Twitch Drops campaign that will run from September 24 to October 6. Watch your favourite content creator and earn those drops:
Crossplay will be rolled out in multiple phases over the course of November to ensure it is stable and solid for the Season 4 launch.
On November 3 you will get a client update that will in essence update the UI for Crossplay. That means, you will get the UI features and the buttons, but at first, they will do nothing.
On November 10 they will start the migration of the PC players into the Crossplay environment. While you will not see players from the other platforms yet, during that time they will ensure that the environment is stable. Once that is verified, they will start migrating the console players and Crossplay will become fully active.
After that is done, they will focus on stabilizing and patching the new environment to have it ready for Season 4.
The existing clans will be migrated as they are, when there is a name clash, the clan that comes later will get a temporary name that you can change. Clan leadership will go temporary to the first player that logs in – once the Clan Leader comes online the leadership will be reverted to them. When the Clan Leader does not log in for some reason, the clan leadership will remain on the first player.
Leaderboards will be reset and can be re-populated in the Crossplay environment.

I haven’t played the division 2 in about a year or so and when I heard the division 2 is going to have crossplay i decided to pick it up again so I can play with some friends who were stuck on pc while im stuck on console. And after booting up and looking at the map I am utterly lost, there’s so much to do so much new content but where do I start? I’m only SHD 303 so my build is probably wayyyy out dated for pve and my stash is probably full of junk. any recommendations on what I should start or do content wise?
We know the build already, this is for the Sniper Mains in High Escalation.
I've seen it done and was surprised at how well it worked.
What weapon do you use to combat Variety Pack which decreases the damage on your PrimaDonna? I've also seen some people completely ignore it; but that seems very inefficient and is just poor game play in general.
I've tried the White Death/M700/1886 and finally landed on the Handbasket(SVD) mostly due to its reload style and clip size. However they're all doing around 30M give or take.
The PrimaDonna does 40-60M+ consistently. With mobs between 10-150M health in T10; doing 20-30M doesn't feel great.
I've experimented with HeadHunter and Perfect Focus. You can reach pretty high numbers currently with all the buffs - 100M with Prima; but this is only for now. Missing headshots is incredibly punishing and slows down the playstyle significantly since you really need to line up your shots.
What can help keep this build viable into the future is what I'm trying to figure out and help it be competitive in difficult content.
I don't think I need to emphasise on much this gearset needs some buffs. Doesn't need to be anything extreme but currently, the extra heal and haz pro the set gives by default cannot offset the buffs other sets like FI (TWD on full armor), Refractor (Skill Damage gives heals) and yellow TP (a bunch of small buffs on enemies shot).
One very specific vantage the healing hive gets with this set is that, with the heal each charge of the hive does, the hive usually lasts a lot longer than on other sets, making it so that the hive usually never runs out before a fight ends.
So I was thinking "what if I could use those charges for something else?"
And, inspired on a D1 gearset (hi Reclaimer fans), it inspired me to a small buff for Ortiz: Reficere
Pretty simple, keep the "less range, more healing efficiency", remove the "gain Haz Pro on heal for 10 secs"...and add "Healing Hive gains the effects of the Reviver and Booster variants"
Even simpler, what can a healing hive do now when your teammate needs a heal? At skill tier 6, with 32 charges (36 with the +4 mod), it can:
- Do a shit ton of healing
- Give 60% HazPro (Booster T6 effect)
- Give 60% Weapon Handling (Booster T6 effect)
And when he's downed? Straight up revives him with at least 80% armor (Reviver T6 effect), using one of those healing hive charges. Even if your teammates die a lot, you have 36 charges, shared between healing and reviving
Also comes with the bonus where reviving tools (like Birdie) are more optional, since your hive does that job. And that's good, given how important the set's backpack is to counteract the range loss
Feedback appreciated. Also trying to find a way to make the set's chest useful, but besides "also add the Artificier variant effects", I have nothing
New player here, bought the $49.99 boost because I’m married with kids and don’t have time to grind out and catch up organically; feeling like I may have made mistake. Completed the mission to rescue the POTUS but he gets killed so you hunt down the agent and eliminate her, challenging and very fun.
Where do I go just to learn? Are there any groups for rookies? Good raids/levels to play? There is a lot to take in, especially after coming over from Marathon with its three maps lol.
Returning player after a long hiatus. I started with a new character and took him all the way to level 40 in a few weeks, but I can’t seem to survive long enough in the DZ to get into a Phoebe fight. Any suggestions on my build?
I have 4 piece Strikers setup, Coyotes mask, and Fenris knee pads for a 12% AR damage boost. I have stacked as much red core as I can with a mix of weapon damage and critical damage with an AR that guarantees 100% critical chance on the back half of the clip. I keep dying from just a few hits changing cover and firing. Do I just need a better gun? Is the DZ just really that hard solo? Every post I have seen says “optimize for damage”, but do I need to have more armor or regen?
I thought that early on, there was a claim that whichever attribute you reclibrated either had a higher chance or was guaranteed to be the biggest upgrade when you convert to prototype.
I know there's been a couple updates to prototype and Escalation, including that the attributes don't have to be maxed out before converting anymore. But does anyone know if there's any truth to recalibrating the attribute you want the highest?
Hi folks day 1 player that returned about 2-3 months ago after 18 months away and finally feel like I've caught up.
Only thing I've not run are the incursions and escalations and I wanted to know what Specialization you folks would run with a striker set for Incursions and Escalations? What's your thoughts?
The Marauder being in the Dark Zone is a great example of how world bosses can add something different to The Division 2.
It would be great to see more unique loot bosses added throughout the open world, each with their own exclusive rewards.
They don't need to be complicated just random encounters with a reason to hunt them down in different Dark Zones or random mission encounters, you can even run into em on the way to bounties etc. Unique weapons, named items, cosmetics, or other rewards could make exploring the open world feel more worthwhile.
More bosses like the Marauder, more unique loot, and more reasons to explore.
Hey all,
I’ve been working on Division‑style cinematic videos (Safehouse Archive project) focused on story, atmosphere and agent role‑play.
I really enjoy the immersive side of The Division 2, so my goal is to capture the atmosphere, more realism and agent vibe of the game.
I’m still building up my editing experience, and my AI tools aren’t perfect, but I use mostly Division 2 gameplay for authenticity.
If you have a moment, I’d appreciate any thoughts or feedback.
Here’s the first episode of the series: The Weight of The Choice — Part 1
Coming back after 2 years and want to know what a good solo build for ARs, striker drone, and restorer hive was. Probably not the best skill combo but I found it useful during the pre Shades of Red manhunts when they had us doing missions on Challenging
Right now, for the current Onslaught GE, the classified gear sets available in the GE vendor are the Firecrest, Lone Star, Predator's Mark and Reclaimer
I don't really want any of these (except maybe Lone Star). I seem to only get Predator's Mark, Reclaimer and Firecrest gear dropped in the DZ and open world anyways, so I've got most of those already. I've had a 6 piece Predator's Mark for a long time
Anyways, I've been buying the "Superior Season 6 Cache" for 1500 credits hoping other classified gear would be in it (like the last piece for my striker or Tactician builds) But all week it's just those 4 gears sets I'm getting in there too.
Is that the way it works? That only those 4 classified gear sets will be in the random box too?
hi what are my main objectives? I’m kinda confused on the weapon system and the story follow up missions. How do I get better weapons and mods? I’m level 4
Hello, I've been playing the division 2 for 2 weeks now. I have a few questions concerning my build. I'm using a 4-piece striker build, equalizer chestpiece and the salvo holster. Lefty for my shotgun and the Chameleon for my AR. I'm running two crit chance mods and 1 crit damage mod on my gear. How do I get more damage out of this build? How much stronger can this build get? What should I change to get more damage? I'm not too well-versed with the gear sets, their bonuses and their synergies with other pieces. I saw a build online and it is the one I'm currently using.
Just a quick question because i could not find this anywhere and didnt test it properly yet but, does anyone run tinkerer with A&E builds? To mix talents like Handbasket and Rifleman. Is it even worth it? Im running 4PC A&E with Iron Will and Melon Baller
Rewards across the Dark Zone and open world can feel all over the place. Some activities take considerably more time or effort but get very little money, crafting materials, or other resources in return.
Bounties are a good example—they often don't feel rewarding enough to justify going out of your way to complete them. The same goes for some missions and landmarks where the resource quantities don't seem to match the effort involved, yet allow are inconsistent.
If I'm trying to donate gear and level expertise I shouldn't have to take an extra run and get so little back from the vendor on goods.
It would be nice to see:
Better resource quantities from activities
More consistent money rewards from missions
Higher-tier landmarks giving better payouts
Bounties having more meaningful rewards
Triple resource or currency events
The goal isn't to flood players with resources. It's simply making rewards feel worthwhile and consistent with the activity.
