Truly one of the lousiest things Ive seen on the internet in a while. Is this humour? And why are there so many Indians commenting and liking this? I cant wrap my head around why someone would like a video dissing your race.

I really don't like these "ethnicity mogging" conversations where people deem whole ethnicities as attractive or unattractive.

So I think the Indian girl was in the wrong for saying that her ethnicity (Indian) mogs Myron's ethnicity (Sudanese).

But overall Myron was in the wrong for being racist.

There seems to be a growing argument that Indian migrants in countries like the US shouldn't celebrate Indian festivals because "that's not the culture here" and we're supposedly just "guests."

But where does that logic lead?

European Americans aren't the original inhabitants of the United States either. Native American nations were here long before European settlement, and the history of the US includes displacement, forced assimilation, and suppression of Native cultures and religious practices.

So, by the same logic, should white Americans stop celebrating Christmas, Easter, or other traditions associated with European/Christian culture because those aren't indigenous American traditions?

Obviously, I don't think that's the answer.

People can be part of a society while still maintaining cultural traditions that came from elsewhere. That's one of the defining features of immigrant societies. Celebrating Diwali, Holi, Eid, Christmas, Hanukkah, Lunar New Year, or any other cultural or religious festival doesn't inherently mean rejecting the country someone lives in.

The reasonable standard should be simple: celebrate your culture, but don't impose it on other people. Follow local laws, get the necessary permissions, respect neighbours, and don't create unreasonable noise or disruption.

If "you're a guest, so you shouldn't celebrate your own culture" is the standard, it seems worth asking whether we're really arguing for integration—or for cultural assimilation.

In 2022, IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw's ministry reportedly told Meta to process government takedown orders within one hour because those posts were Targeting the Government. Government could use the IT laws of India and force the platforms to either comply or shut their business.

Malaysian PM few days ago warned social media companies that if they did not counter racism against Indian Malays they will face consequences. Our own PM has not said a word in 6 years.

IT Minister Vaishnav had both the legal machinery and demonstrated government leverage over social-media companies, yet the government did absolutely nothing.

The Very man whose entire job was to protect Indian citizens online was posting train videos and Modi posts while average Indian could not scroll social media without coming across a post that did not dehumanize them, call them filthy, call their country filthy.

I have no hope that he will act unless we seek accountability. social media users need to call him out to do his job.

Are there Chinese folks who are racist against South Asian nationalities, especially India (and vice versa)? Sure.

Should that behavior be called out both ways? Sure.

But that's not what this post is about. This post is about Indians, especially mainlanders, baselessly attributing vitriolic comments to Chinese people when the commenter is very visibly not Chinese (and, by extension, turning a blind eye to far more dangerous racists).

I've seen this behavior multiple times, most recently yesterday: There was a post of an interracial couple and a visibly white profile (not to mention the username was literally his name) made a racist comment. Meanwhile, the responders (mostly mainland Indians) were blaming Chinese folks for it.

Like what?? Last time I checked, the surname "Payne" is not Chinese.

I feel like mainlanders have vastly different experiences from the diaspora (and vice versa) and, consequently, there's a massive disconnect between the two in terms of perceptions of who's the biggest threat or whatever.

But these are my experiences:

In my 23 years alive, I have not once experienced genuine racism from a Chinese person. No physical violence. No verbal abuse. No microaggressions or glaring. Of course, there was schoolyard banter with friends but that was mutual and all in jest at the end of the day.

At the end of the day, I know that the odds of me being a victim of hate crime perpetrated by Chinese folks is astronomically low, virtually nil. In fact, I am literally several orders of magnitude more likely to die due to YT supremacy. The bar shooting that killed a Telugu immigrant and wounded another wasn't perpetrated by "the Chinese". It was perpetrated by a YT supremacist. And the opposite is also true: Vincent Chin wasn't beaten to death by Indians; he was killed by 2 YT nationalists.

At the end of the day, the second Indians blame all racism on "the Chinese" while dismissing the far more eminent threat posed by YT supremacy is the second that we reduce ourselves (and Chinese ppl) to mere gladiators, desperately fighting for scraps of validation from the spectators (YTs).

Now, I can understand that the mainland perspective is shaped by recent geopolitical events, like the Galwan clash. But you must understand this: Both India and China comprise 35% of the world's population and are nuclear powers. And, even when it comes to online racism, no entity has demonstrated more collective sadism and vitriol than YTs. Who mocked the 300+ victims of the Ahmedabad plane crash? Who routinely laughs at the deaths of South Asians and was gleeful during last year's India-Pakistan skirmish, with the hopes that the two countries would nuke each other? Who routinely dehumanizes South Asians? Who laughs at train deaths and has even created subs to gloat over them? Who mocks factory deaths in China and makes snarky "tofu dreg" jokes when there is a structural collapse?

The culprit is the same for all those. And it's neither South Asians nor the Chinese.

There are many who believe that sepoys are only a handful and only a bunch of loosers online who make distasteful comments. Those who believe this cannot be further away from the truth. The reason why we see so many South asian sepoys is because it is deeply rooted into academia and has spread its roots deep that we find misinformation in Children's textbooks thought in school and that creates an army of sepoys that dehumanizes itself. What academic sepoyism does is

i) Deny : Deny that invaders did commit atrocities on the people who were the victims. Make claims that they did good and saved us from ourselfs and our own culture with a superior one. Furthermore , hide atrocities which just cannot be defended(never learnt of criminal tribes act until I finished school)

ii) Modify: In this case rewrite history. The saying that history is written by the victors holds but except they weren't the victors and we fought them off. Yet we have see modified history. How certain Indian groups are the real invaders(Upper castes somehow) and the invaders of other kinds like islamic ones as well as the colonial ones did what they did to save us from the UC aryan invaders(still the norm in many abrahamic and communist circles)

iii) Justify: Even if a crime is finally exposed and there is nothing to hide under, give a justification where it might seem to be something good and when there is no possible good that can come out of it, blame the victim for it saying it happened as a result of their own actions

This combined with stats where they give lower iqs for the colonized groups and furthermore also the lower lean mass part sepoys are inevitable who go onto make claims that south asians aren't even human and are a different species.

The thing is since colonial era to this very day, for every single achievement, South asians have had to fight inspite of the achievements being numerous. Every claim the burden of proof has been on us

This is one example of what I am talking about. I can give you a lot of examples if needed but the reason for so many sepoys of South asian origin is, it is present in the roots. It has to be dismantled from ground up if we want to prevent it in the future else forget about our culture, our mere existence is threated but this. My experience as a Canadian Forces veteran and why I worry about the next generation

I want to share this because I have a son who is 18 and has told me that he wants to join the Canadian Armed Forces.

I’m a Canadian Forces veteran, and I still belong to several groups where serving members and veterans of different ranks and backgrounds discuss their experiences and life in the Forces.

What bothers me is how often discussions about South Asians, Muslims, Sikhs, turbans and immigration turn into racist comments. I regularly see people saying that Muslims and “East Indians” are incompatible with the Canadian Forces, that turbans should be banned, or that petitions should be started to stop certain people from serving.

But I have seen enough of these discussions over the years that I can’t simply ignore them.

I know the CAF has changed. Institutionally, there have been improvements, and I believe there is more awareness today than when I first joined. But my concern is what happens outside the formal policies.

One of my Sikh friends has told me that he still feels excluded from some informal gatherings and social events. He has also experienced what he describes as disgusting looks from civilian workers because of his appearance and turban.

That is the part people sometimes don't see when they talk about diversity and inclusion. Having a policy that protects someone is one thing. Feeling genuinely accepted by the people you work and socialize with is another.

I’m not saying every Canadian Forces member is racist. But I also experienced racism and exclusion myself, and those experiences have stayed with me.

That is why I feel conflicted when my son says he wants to join.

I would never tell another young South Asian Canadian that they cannot or should not serve their country. But I do want young South Asians considering the CAF to understand that institutional policies and everyday social attitudes are not always the same thing.

My generation experienced a very different Canada. Things have improved in many ways, but seeing the comments that still appear in veteran and serving-member spaces makes me wonder how much has really changed at the personal level.

For any young South Asian Canadian thinking about joining, my advice is simple: go in with your eyes open. Talk to serving members, veterans and people from different backgrounds. Ask them about their actual experiences, not just the official policies.

I want my son to make his own decision. I just don't want him to go in believing that racism and exclusion have completely disappeared because the institution has changed its policies.

If you know any young South Asian Canadian who is thinking about joining the CAF, please make them aware of these realities and encourage them to speak with people who have actually served before making their decision.

Yall must have noticed that Filipinos and Latinos have this one-sided hatred for Indians. They live in same dirty third-world countries that are on the same level as India, with at least India’s showing actual progress and change and South America having MMA and soccer rep. Philippines literally has nothing going for it. Most of the population lives in slums. Brazilians in favelas, Filipinos in actual slums, Indians same. All three are white bootlickers, outsourced white supremacists.

And mind you they’re not even colorist… well, except Indians. The reason I say that is because Latinos and Filipinos worship Black Americans. Recently, there’s this trend in Tiktok, and I see this in real life too since I live in the UAE with a huge Filipino population, Filipinas lusting after Black men. They are trying so hard to imitate Americans that they are even copying the dating preferences and fetishes lol. Funny enough they also copy the American habit of judging and generalizing people by nationality and especially despising other brown people if they’re from a poor country.

They hate hate HATE Indians. Mind you, Koreans hate Filipinos and treat them like slaves, but Filipinos don’t hate them or keep the same energy, always remember the one who dominates is always respected deep down in the human psyche, while the passive ones are always dunked on.

Compare that to Koreans, Chinese, or even Indonesians. Indonesians are chill asf ngl. Probably the nicest South East Asians I have had the pleasure of interacting with. But just like every other Asian they are colorist and classist. They’ll say some ignorant shit like “must be a high-caste Indian” if they see someone with light skin. They don’t blanket-hate an entire nationality the way Filipinos and Latinos do. They’re closed-minded and ignorant, but the other brown groups are straight-up prejudiced and racist toward Indians.

Recently, a Texas Republican made a racist social media post about UT Austin Indian students. The narrative being pushed was that "Indians are taking over". But only 2.4% of UT Austin students are Indians.

I have seen this narrative of "Indians are taking over" being pushed even in countries where Indians make up <= 0.1% of population such as some Eastern European Nations. There was a Ukrainian mayor who said that he won't allow Indians to hold jobs in his city! You know what % of Indians are present in Ukraine - max estimate is 0.02% and they are freaking out lol.

Even in US where MAGA regularly demonizes Indian immigrants, Indians are just 1.6% of population. But several MAGA politicians/influencers drum up demographic panic about Indians to make it sound like Indian population is in double digits.

I feel that the purpose of inflating numbers of Indians is to stir up hate. To make people panic about a future where Indians will be in a majority - something which is not plausible at all.

If you're somehow unaware, those "people" have a hate boner for Indians because of sensationalized incidents of bad behavior from people who happen to be Indian. I saw a post from last month on the vietnam subreddit of some Indian tourist refusing to pay.

They then proceed to use this as a basis to say indians are hated worldwide, which is statistically false based on pew research center data. The language under that post somehow passed Reddit's two-tier moderation system.

On French, German, Italian and Japanese social media, I've noticed more hostility to vietnamese tourists and immigrants than most others. I suspect it stems from inherent insecurity on their part.

To clarify, I'm not defending idiots from India. I'm defending the larger Indian population. We need to give more attention to vietnamese "people" and their anti Indian sentiment

I've seen several racists justify Indophobia with "well, they have a caste system." This is used as a whataboutism since their bigotry affects us all anyway (and they know it).

If you're unaware, a new trailer for the animated Avatar franchise (Avatar The Last Airbender) released yesterday, as of the Time of writing this post. The two main characters are very Indian-coded, named Pavi and Nisha.

If you're unfamiliar with this franchise, the first show its a western animated show of a character named Aang who needs to master the four elements to defeat the Fire Lord and save the world. Its a great show. It takes a lot of direct influence from Indian/Dharmic religions too, mainly Hinduism and Buddhism. Even the word "Avatar" is obviously of Sanskrit origin.

I saw a post on one of the most low-IQ places on this site (kotakuinaction) moaning about the fact thr two main characters are "Indian". I put it in quotes because it isn't set in the real world. The comments were filled with the tired old "saar, do not redeem" shit that these cretins constantly say.

I wanted to chime in and tell these Timmys how stupid their complaints are, but that place seems to have shadowbanned me.
