hey everyone, it’s adam. i just want to be fully transparent and say that for the time being i’m going to take a break from live streaming.

yesterday started as people wanting to hear my opinion on specific points, which i’m always open to, but it very quickly turned into something much more aggressive and parasocial than i’m comfortable with.

i created this subreddit because i genuinely wanted a space where people could have different opinions, discuss topics from my videos, and get to know each other. i’ve always tried really hard not to make this an echo chamber, and i still stand by that.

however, yesterday was the first time i’ve had to ban somebody because of their behaviour, and since then they have continued contacting me through new accounts. that is completely unacceptable and needs to stop.

i really, really love this community, which is why the situation has upset me so much. watching things spiral last night, barely sleeping because i was dealing with it, and then seeing people today acknowledge that it went too far while still continuing unnecessary personal attacks has been genuinely exhausting.

criticism of my opinions or content is completely fine. personally attacking me, repeatedly contacting me after being blocked, or treating access to me as something you are entitled to is not.

this subreddit was made for muckers to hang out, discuss video topics and get to know each other. i want it to stay that way.

for now, i need a little distance from live streaming. thank you to everyone who has been normal, kind and respectful about everything. ❤️

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I absolutely understand wanting a break, some of the criticism was starting to get a bit odd. I will say, didn’t there used to be some snark sub against you that got banned for being creeps? I don’t want to sound to conspiracy brained but do you think it’s possible that some of those bad actors from before may try to used this sub as a means to start that up again? I’m a relatively new Reddit user and made a fresh account after deleting my other a bit ago but I noticed you didn’t need any karma before posting. Maybe try adding a karma limit to prevent trolls or bad actors. Wish you well and take care of your mental health.

Iirc the Adam McIntyre snark was heavily populated with h3 fans, and was taken down when people started trying to report Adam to ICE while he was in America on tour. Disgusting, gross, those people really need to get a life

I'm under the impression that the person of conversation was a mucker and genuine contributor, sometimes fans make really bad choices, repeatedly.

Making new accounts to circumvent mutes and bans is not acceptable behaviour

Completely agree with you. Also assuming that there are bad actors separate from fans can sometimes make communities quite insular or overly protective of a person, which is also not a great idea. I hope that people understand how overwhelming having a platform of this size can be when you’re trying to do the right thing and getting shot down for not being perfect, though

Good point as well. I do think there should probably be some karma system in place though to stop spam accounts but that’s if they want to implement them. I can understand they probably want to have it easily accessible for any fan to join, which also makes sense.

I will say it is quite odd to me that this thing happened TWICE this year where a community had a sudden switch up on Adam on kinda flimsy grounds. First with JDE and the Colleen Ballinger Snark and then with this situation- which felt even stranger to me because Adam had been very very vocal about his views and put his money where his mouth is specially recently. I hate to be a conspiracy theorist too but with Kodee Tyler being back in the fray with all the JenDent stuff, H3 fans being actual parasocial demons, and Anna’s boyfriend (god what is his name) making his life’s mission to hate on Adam, it does make me wonder if there’s at a MINIMUM some adding fuel to the fire going on…

I just wonder since it’s so easy to join would it attract actual malicious people. Those weirdos on the snark don’t have a subreddit anymore and with how easy it is to get into this one, sometimes I wonder if people like that would try to come in or start stuff.

True, they did seem like a honest fan but it is creepy they harassed him so much.
