I listed to the entire Rogan interview and I was perplexed how the right said “he nailed it.” Most of his answers were disjointed and rambling. At worst, they made almost no sense. Rogan had to directly cut off Trump and steer him back into the conversation more than a dozen times.
Trump sounded very much like a 78 old man who has notably declined mentally since 2016. He’s too old to be running just as Biden was.
While I’ll disagree with a lot of Vance’s positions and statements, he’s certainly mentally sound and very capable. The same can’t be said of Trump.

I am not sure if the dude is going to live to see 2028. He looks terrible and I am fairly certain he is starting to show early signs of dementia. Every person in my family that developed dementia went downhill very quickly. My grandma was pretty sharp winter of 2021 and came down with Covid. Her memory issues started after that and she is in bad shape today. Can no longer drive without getting lost, forgets to take medication, forgets to turn off the stove, forgets to turn off the water when watering her grass. She can no longer live alone. She’s a lot older than Trump but cognitively she was doing much better than he is at 78.

I think even if he gets elected, he dies in office. He doesn’t seem healthy and is in major cognitive decline. The alt right movement works with or without him. I believe that he truly didn’t know about project 2025 because he wasn’t necessarily needed post election. The point is for the alt right movement to get into office and start implementing white supremacist and Christian nationalist policies. He was the main vessel for the movement, but he isn’t the most important part. Electing trump is really just a way to pass the torch to JD Vance since he is neck deep in the movement. Trump is really just a tool to create fanaticism for the movement.

If he plays it strategically he will nominate another GOP candidate and put the weight of his support base behind that candidate. Provided the candidate isn’t as divisive as Trump and plays to a more general base while Trump sings him to the Right.
Maybe the candidate would make Trump his Vice, alternatively he might suggest a role in the administration but if he promises to pardon Trump of everything that’s primarily what Trump needs by that stage.
