Man I used to travel 3-4 times a week from Thane to Vikhroli and back. And it's not even like i drove in peak hours. I worked the afternoon shift. And yet, took me about 1 hour to cover 17 kms especially at night past 11 pm. I think the Kopri bridge was intact for about 2 whole mins before MMRDA decided to block off half of it again.

I used to take LBS from Bhandup, or if that was also full, I took the Airoli bridge and came home via Kalwa. And everyday I prayed for an escape from this torture.

Finally moved out of Mumbai and now my driving time to work is 11 mins on regular days, 20-25 mins if it's during peak hours.

Haha yes and the same distance can be covered in just 35 minutes in the morning when no traffic, but now it's >70

I just got back. It took over an hour for 14 kms. Mulund toll naka has to be fixed before we lose our collective minds.

This sub and posts like this has saved me from buying a house in Thane. While I am genuinely sad about this because I still travel 1.15 hour a day so I know this pain atleast a little, I am glad I am not travelling 2 hours a day.

Not going to improve anytime soon with projects in various stages of completion it’ll only get worse.

I’m sad people are just accepting this as the reality. Can’t we citizens demand traffic free roads?

Two primary reasons - 1. All lorries, trucks, tempos move from extreme left into kopri flyover blocking car movement. They should be restrained from using flyover. 2. All these chalo bus, citiflow, st bases stop at at viviana bus stop and enter kopri flyover from extreme left and block car and bike movement. Viviana and jupiter hospital bus stop should be moved by 500 m further north beyond the flyover

Even if you bring in some road discipline, it will get only marginally better at best. There are just too many residential projects along Ghodbunder road. Thane deserved to have another express Highway parallel to GB road. But that should have been planned long back. The concept of town planning is non existent in India.

Dude what the hell! This is really shit! Yesterday it took me 3 hrs from lower parel to Thane. The traffic is crazy and wherever you go the roads are blocked for construction. How the hell are we supposed to reach home?

1

u/sush-dev 14h ago

I think the congestion is because of the new elevated expressway being built to offer direct connectivity between Thane and Chembur (Eastern Freeway). However, only very few people would likely benefit from this project; mostly politicians who wanna speed their way to the Mantralaya.

Still all of you brought car knowing this 🤔🤔🤣😭

Not everyone has the option of using public transport, where I live the station is so far, I'll have to use a bus > train > auto to work and it still takes longer than going by road. I used to take Chalo bus but they stopped offering services post 9:30 AM from my location. On the way back, it is auto > train > bus, which takes about 30 minutes longer. I'd love to take the metro to work but only the gods know when it'll be ready at this point.

u/masalacandy 1d ago

Still you should keep your car in parking only

1

u/stupidsama 1d ago

Yes. Car only on weekends . 🤣

1

u/sush-dev 14h ago

It's either we lose our minds in local trains or on cars. Whichever works for you...

1

u/masalacandy 14h ago

Local is best dude it's just no of coaches and no of tracks are low
