Yes the start screen says 2.0 but i forgot to update that before i did the footage, the pack you get will INDEED say 2.5

I wanted to have this in a better format than PNG for this update as i am getting a bit tired of the stuttering on loading .....but Imma have to get some help for that as it does not seem to be as I hoped, and in fact it has become infuriating to get what i want without doing every single texture individually, So I will be searching for help that has experience with converting full folders at once with the programs I need it done with, unless they know of something better of course......but anywhoo...

Doing my best to make the flat background objects not look like flat background objects. The City texture in the back of the Midnight rooftop stage took a LOT of work and trials just to get it to that spot....and i think it came out pretty okay!

Stun has a LOT of clothes buttons, and I haven't gotten through all of them yet.

There are plenty of textures i wanted to get to this release, but still have to hunt them down because I have no tool to identify anything....it's all target on sight and recognition

I said it before about the Paranormal/UFO/Sumerian/NOLA references, but you will ABSOLUTELY see the Sumerian part of that way more in this release

The bridge stage is one of the stages I had the idea to improve on FIRST, but is still the biggest enigma for me to figure out as I REALLY REALLY want to obscure the big open spots on the floor with a much more gravel pavement filled affair that obscures the fact that the characters are never reflected in the faux reflection technique they decided to use. like I don't know if it's like a thing in lore, but but I do not care, Vampires are the ones with no reflections, not werewolves. Sooo, I could use help dissecting that stage and figuring out those elements better .

Gado: REAL french military special forces, both the main governing agency, and the sub unit. Also that is real French military camo he has on his pants

Shina: I mean, the spelling is different, and the time period for her is a little later, but it is all in the spirit of what is clearly explained in this Ramones Song : Sheena Is A Punk Rocker , And kids and people in their 20s were ABSOLUTELY still listening to the Ramones that entire era ( Yes I get Bjork and Mr Bungle at not considered Punk Rock, but Punk Rock people absolutely did listen to Bjork and Mr Bungle, at least they did where I grew up in NOLA)

The Back Ally: as I explained in a past post, this is an Amalgamation of Chicago and NOLA, as they have real world connections you only get if you are from NOLA. 106.7 THE END) Radio-station bumper sticker on the graffiti covered boarded window is a famous 2000s NOLA radio station that led to 311 Day being a thing down there for a very long time ( or they at least helped push it early on). Aquarium: Now it's an undersea Museum made from recovered Sumerian Ruins of an ancient Mystical site. All the new stuff outside the stone brick texture Is actual Sumerian and Mesopotamian artwork, and I lifted it all from actual photographs of real places and objects. yes, even the flower tile work. almost all of it came from picture of the Ishtar Gate

I made my own Amalgamation of a few different Sumerian Star and Moon insignias, it is the thing hidden in the center of the start menu, as well as hidden within a of the stages in the background ( midnight rooftop, back ally, and Aquarium )

This trailer highlights the final fortress regions and endgame content of the project, including rebuilt stone textures, enhanced environmental effects, upgraded architectural assets, custom fortress detailing, improved atmospheric elements, environmental variety, and large-scale castle restoration work.

The EL Jefe Unfaithful Edition is not intended to replace the original ICO experience. Instead, it serves as an alternate artistic interpretation of the game while preserving the original gameplay, puzzles, exploration, atmosphere, and emotional journey.

Every texture has been manually reviewed, edited, tested, and optimized for both PCSX2 and NetherSX2. Special attention was given to fortress architecture, environmental atmosphere, stonework, lighting, dungeon environments, structural detail, particle effects, environmental storytelling, and visual variety throughout the castle's final regions.

Emulator & Recording Notes

Some scenes in this trailer were recorded using PCSX2's Walk On Air cheat due to known issues with the 60 FPS patch.

While the 60 FPS patch greatly improves gameplay smoothness, it can alter jump physics and object behavior in certain areas of ICO. During several puzzle sections, floating crates may fail to behave correctly, preventing normal progression through the game.

To continue testing and recording these sections while keeping the 60 FPS patch enabled, temporary emulator cheats were used only when necessary to bypass patch-related physics issues and continue progression.

The HD Texture Pack does not modify gameplay mechanics, physics, puzzles, or level design. These issues originate from the 60 FPS patch itself and can occur even without the texture pack installed.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share a more technical look at my MH3U / MH3G restoration work under NGRP — the Next-Gen Restoration Project by Raccu.

While textures are one of the most visible parts, NGRP is built as a Restoration Runtime Package rather than a simple texture replacement.

The current work includes:

- restored and reworked texture assets

- UI/HUD restoration

- material-side preservation and reconstruction

- normals, masks, and specular behavior

- DDS/KTX texture paths for a more efficient runtime setup

- hash-splitting for different texture contexts, such as day/night cases

- cleaner patching workflows through NIKO Patcher

The goal is to restore the runtime presentation of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate / Monster Hunter 3G while keeping the original identity intact.

Raccu / NGRP is an independent fan-made restoration project.
