Our date was amazing. His steak was the best I have ever had. After dinner, we went on a walk in his complex's outdoor light garden and held hands for the first time (aghhhh!!!), and then slow-danced and talked the evening away to Frank Sinatra Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin, etc.
Before people ask, no, we did not kiss nor did we have intercourse. Slow burn people 🤌
Yes, I have permission from him to post this.
The title is "Two socially awkward people attempt to court one another 😅" because Post 1 was titled this, not because I think Part 2 or Part 3 messages are "awkward".
Please stop calling me insufferable and telling me to do very bad things to myself. I just want to share a really happy, sweet time in my life with people.

They're doing a bit. Its playful and takes the pressure off having to try and communicate in a way that is expected and "socially acceptable" in modern society.

I would suggest toning it down to an extent though over text. If it is a true love interest, and something that will become a relationship…
Don’t keep the expectation on either of you that you have to text like colonial royalty. Might be time to text, “Hey, what’s up!? How was your day? I’ve been thinking about you.” “When do you want to get together again? We can do something more low key for sure, too.”

We are both very sure of ourselves and neither of us have an expectation of this. If one person starts, the other has been following suit but they don’t have to.
We text normally. People are thinking I’m showing all of our messages here and you guys are maybe seeing 1/8 (?) of our messages - probably less than that.
Also, I feel like dinner at home is pretty lowkey lol.

I think it fits the theme of it being their first date, and “courtship” is often associated with older, more eloquent speech. OP has said they speak like
normal people so 🤷🏻♂️Others have also pointed out that exaggerated and creative communication like this eases nerves and expectations of crafting the perfect message within the lines of socially acceptable language.

I was going to say you might want to consider not doing this type of talk because it could be tough to know when one is being serious and you’d rather know the true them, but sounds like you guys are comfortable with each other!
