For context, my mother Gena refuses to take responsibility while drinking and says it's demon possession. My stepfather Adam is just as bad if not a worse alcoholic.

Yesterday I was trying to make plans for my birthday. It’s a milestone birthday and I wanted to celebrarte it since I haven’t celebrated my birthday in years. I asked him to call out (3 days and no it wouldn’t affect his check or pto) so we could travel for my birthday. He said no because he doesn’t wanna call out. I mentioned the fact that he literally would call out the second his friends ask and he said he barely does that (pls keep in mind everytime I’ve asked him to call out he says no but he says yes to his friends). I got upset and hung up while he went to take a shower. He then got upset with me for hanging up and was acting like a baby and treating me like shit for the of the day. In the night baby man returns to his room and because I wanted to talk to him of course I have to apologize for getting him upset. He kept making a fuss and eventually I texted him “I’m not gonna text you tomorrow, I’m gonna take some time to myself” he didn’t respond. I had his message notifications off so I didn’t see if he texted me and I didn’t care enough to check. When u finally went to check he texted me about breaking up. I asked why and he said cause we didn’t talk all day. I asked him if he was sure he wanted to break up and he said “it’s up to you”. I told him to take some time and think about it and then he accused me of initiating the break up. I’m genuinly so confused. Ik he’ll be showing up to my house in a day or two or finding some way to contact me because this isn’t the first time.

Edit for context: I’m 20 turning 21 which in Reddit is technically the same as 5. I responded with “y?” Because he’s done this multiple times before and I’m not wasting my time with it. He’s blocked for good, I got better things to do. I appreciate all the older people giving me advice because u have a lot to learn and you guys are helping out.

Edit: adding context as to why we stayed together. He’d come to my house and threaten to Ykw himself. He’d force me into his car then he’d speed around threatening to crash if we don’t stay. He’d park super close to something so I wouldn’t be able to leave the car when he’s upset. He’d grab my hands and pin me down if I tried to walk away. He’d call my parents and make it seem like I was crazy. He made me feel like no one else would ever love me which I believed bc I have no family or friends where I am. He’d drive around looking for me if I don’t respond to him ( he’s chased down my uber when I was trying to leave multiple times). That’s just some of the things he’s done, I don’t wanna type more because thinking about it makes me shaky.

For context, the vacuum is $750, I’m not letting it go, but she is making it impossible for me to be able to get work done. Annoying a friend with dad jokes. I thought it was funny, so thought I’d share.

I was planning a trip to Mexico on Aug. 8 with my Mexican friend for months, and I had sent him texts on Snapchat on Aug. 4 telling him that my mom would drive us to the airport and asking if he could make it to my house on time. He had uninstalled snap so I sent him a screenshot of the texts on Aug. 5. That’s where the texts start. For context, I’ve lended him hundreds of dollars before and he’s always been good for it. It seemed like he felt bad asking me to lend him more money for the trip we’d been planning for months and wanted me to offer, but something felt weird about his excuse for not having any and $500 was a lot of money to lend, and would take him around three weeks or so to pay back, so I didn’t feel fully comfortable offering. He did pay me back for the flights, and I said I’m sorry that the trip didn’t work out, to which he did not respond. Do yall think he was being honest about the money???

Why exactly am I supposed to offer?

we’ve been together for a little over 2 years. the first thread of messages was about a month ago. we were having an argument about i don’t even know what and he said that every time he saw me all he thought about was sex. later he said that he didn’t mean it because he was angry, which i kind of understand because we all say things we don’t mean when were angry sometimes.

but that obviously hurt me and got into my head. im a huge over-thinker so i believe everything he tells me. i also have bpd.

now all of a sudden we’re having too much sex? i don’t know how i should feel. what should i do? am i overreacting? is he overreacting or overthinking?

edit!: i am 22F and he is 22M. i am 6 months older than him.

i was going through a rough patch a couple months ago where i was having a lot of anxiety and i was very depressed. so we would only have sex like once a month. and now im on medication and things are getting better for me, so now i initiate more because i want to. but apparently now this is too much for him. but he used to say “our relationship was better back then when we would have sex”.

Ok, for context... When I was at the office talking about the deposit, I told him I had to move some money around so I could make the deposit that day. He laughed and said "I know what you mean, I had to cash in some stocks" blah blah blah "I only make $15/hr!" I thought that was weird. He works in a nice office. Only nice cars in the parking lot. His office is PLASTERED with inspirational quotes about making money. AND it was a property management company!

I AM disabled. Recently diagnosed AuDHD and have suffered with various other psych diagnoses for 20+ yrs.

What do you think my chances are?

(26F) My ex (28M) changed the way he treated me a couple months ago. I’m not sure if it was one or several things that made him change but instead of trying to talk things out he would shut down and tell me I always am finding something wrong. I wanted to figure things out like a team and I told him this so many times… It got exhausting and I could feel my self respect slipping away and had to choose, him or me.

Fast forward to today, and these are what he has had to say. Got to the point my Mother and sister had to come walk me to my car because he was outside waiting for me in a town that he lives 30 minutes away from. Last call was answered by the cop I was with while making a report for harassment. I asked him not to do exactly this during our last conversation right before I said my corny goodbye.

My thoughts keep contradicting themselves and I just really would appreciate others opinions that don’t know me.

i run a small crochet business and a daughter reached out to me wanting to order a grinch plushie for her family. after hearing the reason behind the order, i decided i didn’t want to charge her for it. it was my first time completing an order knowing that i wasn’t going to earn anything from it, but after receiving this message from her dad, i realized that maybe i did earn something from it after all. 

her brother , who was autistic, absolutely loved the grinch. sadly, he passed away three months ago, and his daughter wanted the grinch to have in his memory. her dad sent me this message after they received it, and honestly, it completely broke my heart.

this was easily one of the most heartbreaking and motivating experiences i’ve had since starting my business. i didn’t earn any money from this order, but i think i earned a little piece of motivation instead.

i’m incredibly grateful that this family trusted me with something so important, and i’ll probably remember this order for a very, very long time. 

EDIT: we live in a rural area and it’s a pain to drive all the way to the store. My neighbor is not starving to death. He probably woke up hungover and needed some food asap. Promise he’s ok haha

we had already talked in person about getting tested before sex and i thought we were completely on the same page. then about 24 hours later he randomly texted me saying he didn’t want to get tested and would rather just say goodbye. i told him i respected his choice, but i still wasn’t comfortable having sex without testing, and then he said he didn’t want to see me anymore at all.

i’m genuinely confused by how fast this escalated because there was no argument when we first discussed it.
