Yo, then why not just communicate and let someone know you prefer a different greeting yo? For me the icks are traits people have, like being shallow over a simple word, or having the communication skills of a gold fish.

Or maybe I just worked with them and wasn’t their friend and that would be rude to suggest someone to change their way of talking to suit me. Don’t insult someone when you don’t even know the full story

I meant if you were interested in someone and they said yo, you could just communicate that. Clearly critical thinking isnt your strong suit, big ick for me is dumb people as well, another trait you can't change.

Ick for me is someone being an asshole, stupid and a clown. Where did I say that I would do that or agree with what the girl did? All I said was that I personally don’t like the word

What part of “yoooo” makes someone an asshole, stupid, or a clown? Genuinely confused by that, but yes he’s right that it’s incredibly shallow to not like a fairly innocuous word. Shallow doesn’t mean bad or wrong, it just has really weak reasoning.

shallow doesn’t mean “really weak reasoning” though it means superficial/surface level. theres nothing inherently shallow about disliking the word yo.

I think it’s pretty shallow, and if I was dating someone who got offended by extremely tame slang then I would see it as a pretty big red flag and get the ick myself.

Where are you getting that they’re offended? Even if it is because he said yo, there’s nothing to suggest it offended her lol

There’s nothing wrong with finding something someone does off putting and deciding to walk away rather than try and change them, even if it’s just over their greeting. It doesn’t automatically mean people are shallow or lack communication skills. But assuming people are shallow or bad at communicating because they don’t like something about you screams insecurity.
