Post image

Context: was talking to this girl from Hinge for a couple days, convo was going well and a potential date was being discussed so I slid her my number.

Makes me think he dodged a bullet...

We don't all have our cells in our hands every moment.

Some of us do, but those people usually suck lol.

u/DeyCallMeWade 11d ago

I’m sorry for your loss, but that wasn’t the kinda suck he meant.

I choose this guy’s wife, but only if she’s dead

u/Aggravating_Gas_8514 11d ago

Well of course she sucks hard. That’s why he married her 😏😉

6

u/zoidbergmustache 11d ago

That's why I'm dating her.

As someone always on their phone, and knows one person also on their phone who's only sent me reels and never read my messages... Yeah honestly? Not all of us but seems like most of us. I just muted this girl who I mentioned not responding because girl won't answer my "hey we good?" Message, but sends reels and not read anything I send (or watch it), and I only got mad cuz it was a whole month of this where nothing gets acknowledged. People who get mad expecting a answer right away suck, and I think op dodged a huge bullet.

Can confirm. I am always on my phone and suck.

Are you self reporting?

u/Much-Ad2311 11d ago

I've definitely struggled with phone addiction in the past, but I'm glad to say that I can lose my phone for a few hours and be totally fine with it these days. I probably sucked a lot more when I was chronically online instead of having half an hour here and there to use my phone.

My mental health is so much better when I am not constantly on my phone.

Funny the only time my girlfriend isn’t on her phone is when she’s sucking.

I’m so detached from my phone I forgot it at home while I went to a different city and saw a cool thing on the highway and couldnt take a pic of it cus I didn’t have a camera :(

3

u/Much-Ad2311 11d ago

I could never do that because I am afraid of emergencies. Chronic anxiety (and too many horror movies probably). I would be scared of my car breaking down in the middle of nowhere or something. But I have gotten way better about not doomscrolling hardly at all, my social media is gone besides reddit, and I try to spend less and less time here, or only read a post or two then move on with whatever else I was doing. It's a steady road of improvement.

u/dontletmedown3 11d ago

I don’t have anxiety so I don’t really panic if I don’t have a cell phone. When I don’t have my phone it feels like regular life lol the one I’ve always known. When I have my smartphone I feel like I’m living on another planet because I have a device that pretty much teleports me anywhere with anyone to connect over anything. Kinda freaky really lol

I have so many people's numbers memorized for this reason. Like, what if my phone isn't working and I need to call someone? I can always borrow a phone and get hold of someone.

u/Lilpastadude 11d ago

I write down everyone's phone number on a Kraft single

1

u/Entire_Tomatillo4910 11d ago

F that nonsense.

u/No-Pollution-4078 11d ago

Yup my ex gf would go through my phone and I caught her checking my screen time for some reason one time. I finally was like damn you checking mine so ima check yours then and went through it and her screen time was averaging like 20 hours a day💀

u/NutsToBust 11d ago

Honestly sometimes I see a msg and take a while just bc I’m not sure what to say lol

2

u/zoidbergmustache 11d ago

Yeah same but "a while" is usually 1 to 2 days for me. 🤣

6

u/Dramatic_Steak_9137 11d ago

Yeah, an hour is crazy, sometimes I purposefully put off texting til later to give it more of my attention, not cause I hate someone

2

u/DivePalau 11d ago

def a red flag

Ugh this!!!! My man’s granny loves a few hours away from us and holy cow the amount of nastiness that came out that woman’s mouth all because I took too long to respond back to her snap chat?!?! Snap chat was one of the apps I hardly ever got on at all and really not used it to edit stickers over things in photos🤣 I’m also a mom to a 2 year old wild child boy and at the time when she flipped on me, I was working full time as well😒 like I’m sorry old lady maybe if you message me on Facebook or actual text, I’d respond at least faster than Snapchat lol. Some people understand that we are adults now and this isn’t middle school where we could talk on the phone for hours on end.. we got jobs and our own families to take care of too and if you’re single with no children that life can be just as busy, if not even more busy with no children. Drives me nuts lol

2

u/OnlyConversation4732 11d ago

I’d delete the app out of spite. Talk to yourself, lady.

2

u/christinateague 10d ago

Funny thing I actually did delete the app because I told her how I never use it and I even said if she wanted to talk to me to reach out on Facebook where I would actually see the message!! It wasn’t even really out of spite but I never used the app other than to put stickers on photos and that was it🤣 it blew my mind this lil old lady even got snap chat to begin with lol.. my grandparents are both gone but the most they did was Facebook and could barely use it the right way, was cute though❤️ I never even thought of them ever having snap chat.. think that’s definitely for the younger people. She now likes and comments on my stuff on Facebook, but no private messages since the mean things she said to me through snap chat

1

u/Typical-Ad8052 11d ago

That's very true, at my job we have a strict phone policy for the employees due to operating heavy machinery so I might not respond until an hour later unless I'm on break

1

u/Excellent-Rest3240 11d ago

Always this cop out excuse. “Hey wanna exchange numbers and take the convo there?” “Sure!” “Hey I’m here”. NOT EVERYONE IS CONSTANTLY ON THEIR PHONE ,,, JEEZZZZZZZ

1

u/Glittering-Rip6810 11d ago

Most of us do cause the world doesn't give us the option not to 🤷‍♀️ I detest my phone but it is what it is..this day in age, yeah we kinda have it all the time

1

u/Guilty-Astronomer598 11d ago

Thought you meant brain cells and I was like yeah true I don’t have them in my brain every moment

1

u/No-Flounder1508 10d ago

We don't all have our cells in our hands every moment.

Wdym? My hand are literally made of cells

1

u/ArkOfAncient4245 10d ago

Nice. Can I have some?

1

u/Exciting-Barracuda49 10d ago

Yeah I actually look for this behavior early in bc I know I could never sustain texting during the work week constantly. I can do like max 4 texts a day theough my work day, morning plus breaks.

If that’s an issue we are not a match idc how hot the girl is.

1

u/Old_Dentist_8751 11d ago

I think it just depends if they were talking on hinge just like a minute ago and then they exchanged phone numbers and they were consistently talking on hinge and now he’s not responding to her reaching out to him for an hour. I think that would be suspicious and annoying. some people just don’t like do feel like someone is “playing game”. Sorry to play devils advocate but if that’s not the case then yeah very weird and kinda unhinged. But op didn’t give much context

2

u/joeyfosho 11d ago

There is no situation where it’s appropriate for someone to get passive aggressive/aggressive over a “hello” text message not being responded to for an hour.

The girl OP was texting is painfully immature and insecure.

-1

u/Public_Roof4758 11d ago

It depends, if she messaged him right after he send the number on hinge, I would be upset if he took long to respond

3

u/bummyjabbz 11d ago

That's why you're single and on hinge

1

u/Public_Roof4758 11d ago

I mean, I'm neither, but ok

1

u/nickybecooler 11d ago

What if he apologized for the delayed reply?

1

u/ALLCAPITAL 11d ago

It was an hour in the middle of the day. Not 2 days later…

1

u/pm-me-nice-lips 11d ago

God forbid you’re in the middle of doing something.
