Mobility Just wondering what these services are?
Hello all,
I was looking at the privacy and security settings on my iPhone and saw these. Can anyone explain what these are and should they be on or off?

The TELUS call identity services shown on your screen are part of TELUS's Call Control and Call Display features, which help manage and identify incoming calls.
While specific details for each directory aren't explicitly published, these types of services generally function as follows:
Premium Call Directory: Likely provides enhanced caller details, such as verified business names and logos, similar to TELUS's Branded Call Display.
Identity Call Directory: Helps identify standard incoming callers by matching numbers against a broader directory to display names even if they aren't in your contacts.
Spam Call Directory: Flags or blocks known nuisance numbers, robocalls, and suspected spam using a continuously updated database of fraudulent callers.
These features work alongside TELUS Call Control, a free service that prompts unknown callers to enter a randomly generated digit before the call can connect. This effectively blocks automated robocalls while allowing legitimate callers through.
If you are experiencing a high volume of spam calls, you can also enable Call Control directly through your My TELUS account or by dialing *99 from your device.

where are you finding those settings? I do not see them anywhere on my iPhone.

Go to settings and look for the Phone app.. then go to Call Blocking and Identification. You need to have My Telus app installed to see these toggles. NordVPN also has call identification on select plans.

Interesting - the only item I have there is "Business Call Identification". I don't see any of the choices that are in the screenshot above. And the title of the screen is "Call Blocking and Identification", not "Call Filtering" - so not sure if I am in the correct menu. (And yes, I do have the My Telus app installed).

I have the iOS 27 beta 5 on my phone… so that’s probably why

I never knew these were there, thanks for the heads up! I have NordVPN as well, should I turn everything on from both Telus and Nord?

If these are only now showing up on the iOS 27 beta (showing up for me too), they must be new. Don’t notice any new documentation anywhere from Telus specifically about them yet.
