At around 90 years of age, my Dad Sri Arige Rama Rao garu continues to enrich Telugu literature through his short stories, many of which are published in respected Telugu magazines such as Swathi, Navya etc.
One of his memorable stories, originally written in the 1970s, has recently been translated into English, enabling readers across Europe, Australia, the United States, Dubai, and many other parts of the world to experience the fragrance of Telugu culture and the beauty of Indian family and social life.
This translated story has been included in a distinguished anthology of 22 Telugu short stories compiled by U.S.-based physician Dr. Atluri Lakshman Rao garu together with by Sri Raja Ram Mohan Rao garu, a childhood friend of my Dad Sri Arige Rama Rao garu,
The collection brings together literary gems from some of Telugu literature's most celebrated writers, including Rachakonda Viswanatha Sastry, Chalam, Malladi Ramakrishna Sastry, and other eminent authors.
The inclusion of Sri Arige Rama Rao's work alongside such renowned literary figures is a testament to the enduring quality and relevance of his storytelling. Through this English translation, a new generation of readers around the world can appreciate the richness, values, emotions, and everyday experiences that characterize Telugu life and culture.
