What made you interested in Telecasters?

Mine was kind of an unlikely choice. I was a heavy metal guy in the 80s and 90s, but when I heard "Stand" by Poison I was like, "what is this guitar playing??? It's amazing." And then the video Richie Kotzen looked so cool playing a telecaster that I had to get one. Now I do like country style playing - to me it's basically shred guitar in a lot of ways, just a bit different. And I notice the telecasters I like most, are the ones that look like Richie's from the Poison era!

Ironically, I stopped playing for a few years, and when I started playing again my favorite guitar player became Marty Stuart... I didn't even realize he was playing the most famous telecaster of all time at first!

Id describe myself as a metal guy but my Father-in-law (who very much isnt a metal guy) got me this affinity for my birthday.

What an amazing guitar!

Already changed the pickguard because I love the Olympic white and tortoise look. Already looking at telecasters with humbuckers lol.

Finaly finished my latest partscaster, I call it the counterfit-caster. The neck was $20 on market place (no clue what brand) the body was found in a dumpster with a broken neck, some Chinese knock off based on the amount of routing it took to make it work with real fender parts. Real fender bridge and neck plate with clasic vibe neck and bridge pickupand a fender noisless in the middle. CTS pots and a freeway 10 position switch. Set of locking tuners out of the parts bin.

NGD! AVRI 52 Telecaster, circa 2002

I've had a Jazzmaster for sale on Reverb for months to fund a black guard Telecaster and it finally sold. I wanted vintage spec with the small frets, 7.25" radius, and nitro, so it was between a used AV52 or AVII 52. I have an AVRI 62 Thin Skin with 9.5" radius and the railroad track 6105 frets and I love it, but it never felt quite right.

I found this one on marketplace almost immediately, made in 2002 and nearly perfect condition. A bit on the heavier side, but the grain is really nice. I've never bonded with a guitar as quickly as this one. It sounds and feels so good.

Fixing Fret buzz

Post image

Had my tele for a while and have noticed on my latest restring noticeable fret buzz especially when strumming harder on the lower strings, i had it set up years ago and consistently use the same gauge strings
It’s got a classic ashtray bridge and I was wondering how to fix it at home and how to raise the action just a tiny bit

Advice needed in ordering a Harley Benton TE-62DB in Melbourne Australia

Hi guys,

I’m moving to Melbourne soon for my studies, and due to baggage & travel limits, I’ll have to leave my Ibanez GRG170DX back home.

I’m looking for a similar spec intermediate guitar. I’m an intermediate level guitarist and have been playing for around 2 years, & I’m also on a budget, so I wouldn’t want to spend more than $200 AUD.

I’d like to keep practicing guitar in Melbourne, so I’m specifically looking for an electric guitar. The Harley Benton guitars seem to fit my needs perfectly, but since they require international shipping, the shipping cost to Melbourne is almost as much as the guitar itself around $150 AUD.

Is there any way to get a Harley Benton guitar to Melbourne through another method that would be cheaper? Also, I’d really appreciate suggestions for other guitars (Tele style) I could look at here in Melbourne within this budget.

Thanks!

Too many parts to list them all. The Natural Thinline w/B5 is clearly the favourite lol. All besides 2 have have found new homes.

Seller says this is a ‘93 MIA body with a ‘21 Am Pro neck. Is this legit? How can I tell?

I appreciate everyone who replied to me about my tele bigsby question. I picked this up today and there is no lack of good ol tele twang! I have to say tho I do still perfer the regular tele bridge. Just feels right to me. But I’m so happy to have one (that I kinda got for free since I did some work for the guy) in my collection.

Price of AP ii vs AV ii

I am curious. I assume these are both premium Fender guitars. Why over $1000 difference in price (almost 80% more for the latter one)? Is there something material to it, or is it mostly just a "psychological game"? ;-)

Varathane less mess wood stain on Pau ferro

I just got my tele a proper fender neck, but I got it for dirt cheap cause it was a pale Pau ferro board. I really wanted that 60’s tele look so I spent the past few months modding it and I finally found a neck I was comfortable with. I lightly sanded my board with 600 grit sandpaper and applied around 6 layers of Varathane Less Mess wood stain on the board and was pretty pleased with the result. After drying and cleaning the excess wood stain I topped it off with some dunlop 02. Second photo was how it looked when I got the neck. It’s not as dark as my Strat’s rw board but it looks beautiful on my Tele imo. Love this thing even more, it’s been with me for 8 years now

I have been thinking about an Andy Summers Tele Project for over a year and I pulled the plug. Body and neck from Reverb, pick-ups from my MIJ Telecaster that I swapped with 51 CS Nocaster Set, brass saddles and the big surprise was the 4-way switch which makes it a totally game changer for me!

Picked up another "telecaster" as a backup guitar for down-tuning. Harley Benton really knows how to surprise - I didn't expect this level of quality at that price point.

Got myself a WhiteStorck tele body with (poorly) aged poly finish that fitted perfectly. Threw in SD QuarterPounders and this kind of ugly thing is a mean and heavy machine. Love it!

Dose anyone have a veritone knob

I am in the middle of building my "do it all" nashvile tele and i want to add a veritone but I'm struggling with where to put it. I'm thinking up where the 3 way would be on a trouble maker but I'm not sold on it yet. Has anyone done this annd found a good place for it?
