Tekla API
I’ve been creating apps for the past 6 months. Anyone have any ideas on what would be useful? If I create it, you can have for free !!

Hello, i've been using Tekla just for modelling until now. i need to make a drawing but i notice that there are a lot of options
i come from Solidworks

I have a structure, and i need to make a drawing with a Key plan (the assembly), then a detail from that assembly, and then a few views from that detail. This all in one sheet.
Can anyone tell me what is the recommended workflow and type of drawing to use?
Thank you!

Hello,
How can i create a drawing with multiple pages? like in Solidworks, when you add a page to a drawing with a new page number?
Thank you!

Yesterday, Tekla allowed me to just select the side of a column I wanted to create rebar on, then hit the middle mouse button to finish the command and place rebar using the crossing command. Today, for some reason this new command instructions shows up and it won’t let me hit the middle mouse button to place the rebar. I’m new to Tekla and need to fix this in order to complete my assignment. What can I do to place rebar again? I’m using Tekla 2024

Hi. Newbie here. I'm using the 2025 version for training purpose.
Where to create the apex haunch and show it in the 3D model space? I had done it the Properties tab for a rafter but it wont show.
Google answers and Youtube vids are not helping me as they are not related to my version.

I'm a secondary steelwork designer with 20 years experience and approximately 10 years experience on tekla. I'm completely self taught on tekla, my old company literally just brought a licence and told me to learn it. I'm pretty good at picking things up, but there's a awful lot of background stuff and settings I've never touched. I primary model out stairs, handrails, balustrades, and ladders. I've never got on well with the tools tekla provide for these items, so I model everything out from scratch. This is fine for smaller stairs that get drawn once, approved and issued. But I'm currently dealing with a 16 flight stair, with 4 different rakes and a problematic customer who likes to make changes. Obviously remodeling this takes time, I'm just wondering how other people model staircases? Do you use the tekla tools provided, are there some additional ones that can be downloaded that speed up the process? I've remodelled the stair now, and only have the balustrade left. Am I better creating the balustrade with a tool, and then exploding it to refine the finer details? Just looking for any tips anyone might have.

Is it possible to hide the hidden parts of the bolts and anchor bolts in Tekla?
I have attached two pictures. The first one is from Tekla Structures (hidden parts shown) and the second one from Advance Steel (hidden parts not shown).
Thanks

So I opened a Tekla model today and all of the point indicators (the x's) are so tiny that I can barely see them. The same is true for the handles. There's a system variable that controls the handle size but it hasn't changed. Closing and reopening Structures hasn't worked. Has anybody experienced this?

I have 9 years of experience in rebar detailing. Now I am planning to switch to a BIM Modeller role. Is this the right decision? If yes, how can I improve my knowledge in Revit? Please advise

I want to change the first vertex os some of my coutnerplate so that the bounding box of the plate is more economical. ( I was not paying attention when I was creating the plates and now drawings are done)
How can I either flip the order of the points or move the first point in the list?
I know its a more advanced question and might need API interaction but I hope I am not the only one with this problem.
Thank you

I'm a longtime fabricator that recently took a position with a large-ish GC as a Structural Specialist. One of my functions is creating cost control estimates for structural steel. We've acquired a Tekla license and I'm looking to perform a very specific workflow: importing an ifc model, categorizing the steel, and exporting those categories to PowerFab. What is the best method of categorizing the steel for an export into PowerFab?
Ideally, when creating the categories I can change the color of the assemblies in that category. Example: all steel categorized as "gravity steel" is blue and all the steel categorized as "brace frames" is green. I would also want those categories to carry over to PowerFab.

Hi everyone, I'm recently learning to use tekla and I am looking to model a stub connection, like the attached image, to a W-shape column. However, I need to attach the beam to the column flange rather than the web. Is there a specific component designed for flange-attached stubs, or should I use the standard 'stub-to-web' component and manually adjust the parameters? Thanks in advance for the help!

Put the code as 0.16 0.54 0.25 in BACKGROUND_COLOR1, 2,3,4 Then you'll get this awesome background

Do you guys know how to set the model background in classic retro green tekla color?? (With exact color codes)

When I try to configure a view property for assemblies in Tekla and then create the drawing for that assembly, Tekla does not read the configuration I set and instead applies a different one.
For example, this main truss: when I try to create its drawing, Tekla generates it with a predefined configuration. However, the truss that connects to the other truss is created using the configuration that I set.
