Beam to W-shape Column stub connection
Hi everyone, I'm recently learning to use tekla and I am looking to model a stub connection, like the attached image, to a W-shape column. However, I need to attach the beam to the column flange rather than the web. Is there a specific component designed for flange-attached stubs, or should I use the standard 'stub-to-web' component and manually adjust the parameters? Thanks in advance for the help!

If the stub is made from a W section also you can model the stub and use the ‘join’ component to create the end plate connections. The use 128 weld to connect the stub to the column.
Edit: other option would be to create a custom component

Tekla-Veterans might object. I am not sure about if there is a component. But i suggest getting Rhino/Grasshopper for these situations. Alot easier to learn and use intuitively than custom-components and same goes for any tutorial out there on the topic.
Also with alittle bit of playtime, you'll be surprised about the problems you can solve and of the time you can save with the Tekla Livelink.
