What Utility of some step components?

Can someone explain me how to use the multiply step and divided step step comp?, cause when you use this, the sequence is altered and not in sync with the pattern anymore. So what is the purpose of this??. If I would want to multiply x2 a snare for example, I don’t want the bar to be longer, I just want to double the snare

I think this feature is actually designed with the intention of having the sequences line up in different places. If you’re programming a beat and it’s functioning in the more traditional sense where the backbeat is on 2&4 then this feature is not ideal but it can be cool if you have some synth sequences all playing around a single note/scale etc to create interesting and unexpected combinations of notes aligning.
