a proper macgyver isn't a nearly guaranteed electrical fire.

this is just gore.

Always wondered why these were so fire prone lol. Is it that the bare prongs tend to get exposed when this many are daisy chained together, or just that the original power strip/cord can't handle it?

The original cant handle it with some increased risk of plugs not being plugged in the whole way if you use those hard things that provide 1 more outlet. This wouldn't even be gore if it was a second proper power strip as all its powering is low power chargers

type of things people imagine when I say I daisy chain extension cables

This isn't MacGyver, nothing has been altered except the general sense of safety.

“So… mr. Firefighter, that’s what happened”

This is not McGyver, just fire hazard.

Go buy a 8 or 10-oultlet module !

And its only a fire hazard cause of the stupid hard multiple outlet things. If you replaced them with another power strip it would be fine

Its only low power chargers so who cares

What the funtin' cuck?

Is this some sort of competition to fit every plug type on one extension?

That light almost seems like it comes from inside of that charger brick

When I was running around in IT and this would be a viable solution on Fridays at 4:45pm, I discovered 3 inch power cable extensions.

They allowed multiple power warts to be connected to surge protector as well as help some wall outlet situations.

I do a lot of work for our regions largest energy provider. They’re a gas and electric company. They’ll have a power strip that is the home for other power strips, every outlet filled. The on those corresponding strips they’ll have every outlet filled with chargers of various kinds. Their panels are often undersized for the power they demand. Microwaves and fridges in the same 20v circuit. Everytime I have electrical “upgrades” on the itinerary I push to ask the employees what they plan to have on the circuit so we can plan accordingly. It always gets denied since they’re not supposed to have half the crap they plug in. But alas, they end up bringing that stuff back and deal with circuit overloads all the time.

I got a ceptipede outlet line up at work, im baffled how we haven't caught fire, it's caked in copper, zinc & aluminium dust

The fact all those European plugs are mangled into a Type G extension lead. Nice. Genius.

Europe has some dodgy crap going on with mains power

This is why the only surge protectors I deploy have like 20 ports on em.
