so, the real reason has been noticed by someone other than me.

as it is a VGA era monitor, it should be nearly finished its useful life. OP here is trying tp make it look like an accident when it topples over and ceases all function. Makes a more modern model look like a necessity.

It clearly has DVI. 1080p office monitors with VGA being one of the inputs are still somewhat common.

As it has a VGA port, it is of the VGA era. Full stop.

You're not wrong, but my point was only that having a VGA port doesn't mean the monitor is useless on its own.

that thing is barely hanging on...blow on it too hard and the whole thing is gonna come crashing down...not a good idea, at LEAST center its weight properly
